I saw this Friday night and left at the interval. Has to be the most turgid pile of steaming poop I’ve had the misfortune to sit through. Dreadful acting, at one point I could actually believe they were cardboard cut outs - Nothing to do with Bollywood style, just wooden and no sense of flow, it was like the actors were telegraphing their lines and their movement around the stage. The dance routines (something I was looking forward to), were out of sync, heavy and laboured and I’ve seen better in VIth Form productions. The “singing” was particularly painful with the majority of it done by 2 of the actors behind a partially hidden screen. I honestly couldn’t have cared less about any characters and the actors seemed to not really care about them either. I’ve never willed an interval so much as I did that night.
