The orchestra pit has been removed at the Dominion along with row A of stalls removed in seating so steps come out into the aisle ways from the stage. The stage is very very high from front row. Where are the band?

Thank you for this update. They haven't sold rows B & C. Do you think they will sell them as restricted view? Or not at all? I'm soo waiting for that info as well! Another reply said that they've been moved to C after a cancelled performance, so it might be that they've used them to recompensate for the cancelled ones. I'm still checking a few times a day for those front rows to be sold, and if not, here's hoping for rush, but it will be crazy hard to get them.

There will be some row c left over though, they didn't cancel that many shows 🤔. They must know what they will be releasing by now. I'm checking regularly too. I have got tickets for the first few shows now but they are all at the side

Where are the band? I assume they're off-stage, but where I wouldn't know. My friend should be seeing this soon so I'll get him to ask.

Do you have any experience with those first three (or two, if we exclude A according to what another member said) in terms of what's best to choose? I'm aiming for middle C, but maybe there's no rake and front (B) is actually better? I'm not from the UK and I have only two performances that I could attend (31.10 and 2.11 mat), so my options are a bit narrow

I've only ever been to this theatre once before and if the stage is very high as someone has said the front few rows might have a restricted view. It's all hard to know until it opens.

Can't say this does much for me.
From this it just doesn't look as sleek and stylish as you expect a devil wears prada show to be.

Having seen the show early in the Plymouth run (so I assume there have been changes), but I can say that these tight shots in the trailer are not representative of the entire show at all. “Dress Your Way Up” is the big montage after Andrea gets her makeover, which yes is a little wild. “The Devil Wears Prada” though looks crowded in the trailer but looked much more regal/polished on stage. I think it’s the closeups here. But there are plenty of “fashion” moments and stylings, with Miranda’s office, “Paris,” and the James Holtz show. But even the movie itself doesn’t focus primarily on the fashion angle as much as the inter- and intra-personal relationships that occur. Fashion is the means, not the end.

It looks very....symmetrical.
When did stage design regress with so many things looking like an ITV shiny floor show. Gah!
Edit: Tim Hatley ?! But he's good. How many days did they give him?

I couldn't put my finger on it but so many musicals seem to have this "look" lately and you've put into words what it is!

Both in terms of set and costumes and just the look on screen and sense of place. This clip doesn't loon like it's set in the world of high fashion. It looks cheap and tacky. And yes completely agree with other comments, it's very symmetrical

Reminds me of that dodgy Craig Revel Horwood Chess staging

Did anyone see the show in the U.S. (that was panned) and is able to compare the changes?

If you watched the first half of the trailer with the sound off, you could easily think it's from Kinky Boots or even Legally Blonde.
The you turn the sound on and musically it feels... unoriginal? Uninspiring?

My fashion taste must be sh*t as I thought the production (especially the costumes!) were absolutely stunning.

I think a problem is that proper high-end fashion is understated - it's all in the cut (how it flatters the individual shape), exquisite fabrics and so on and you cannot translate that onto a big stage.
But yes, based on the clip most of what I see there, like the wannabe Chanel costume, does look like cheap imitations. And that big staircase with costumed people just looks like a knock-off version of the Phantom "Masquerade" scene.
