Not right for Nigel in my eyes, but interested to see if the characters been altered so that he works.

I don’t know Matt Henry’s work other than he’s a fab leading man. But from looks alone he is absolutely perfect to step into Stanley Tucci’s shoes!

Vanessa Williams was Alec Baldwin's guest on his podcast 'Here's The Thing' this past week.
Towards the end she mentions "The Devil Wears Prada" and the changes Jerry Mitchell insisted on when he took over as director including a whole creative team and new songs by Elton John. They did a 2 week reading in London and according to her, (and I am paraphrasing here) Elton said he wanted to hang himself in Chicago but was now, very happy (with the state of the material).
She offers a bit of a spoiler in terms of her 11 o'clock number. Ironically, it is still "Stay On Top" which is retained from Chicago but with a whole new idea and re-orchestration (she mentioned it goes into techno which certainly didn't happen in the earlier production) and it is in a whole new setting. She also said to expect a LOT of fashion and catwalks (especially in Act Two/Paris) as this was sorely missing in Chicago (and she is right).
As it is clear they might have retained a couple of songs, I hope they have kept "Seen" for Matt Henry's Nigel. It was by far the best tune in the show and one helluva touching song.

Hope they have also kept Dress Your Way Up. That was really the only standout number.
After seeing Hamilton again on Wednesday evening, I'd love to cast Georgina Onuorah as Andy. She'll have just finished Kiss Me, Kate by then too.

She'll have just finished Kiss Me, Kate by then too. I have a strong feeling it will be Molly Lynch who I think did the recent reading. I agree that 'Dress Your Way Up' was a good song - will be interesting to see what Jerry does with it. The Chicago staging was dreadful. That song, "Seen", "Stay On Top" were all more than decent and the opener "I Mean Business" wasn't awful but the whole idea behind it was sloppily done.

Completely unrelated to the production but Vanessa Williams just released a new single and I’m already obsessed, I don’t think this is going to leave the G-A-Y playlist all summer LOL

The very beautiful, funny and engaging Anne Hathaway in the movie. She was perfect in the film. Good luck with that whoever they choose for the show.

I've got one ticket for the first preview on Thursday October 24th. Found 3 tickets for the day after to go with family, so won't be needing this one anymore. I payed 30£ for it on the official website. CIRCLE, row P, seat 16. Not the best seat in the house, but if anyone would want to take it over for that price I'd be happy. Anyone interested?

Really hoping we find out just how much of the book/score has been tossed in the fire and been rewritten for this.

Really hoping we find out just how much of the book/score has been tossed in the fire and been rewritten for this. I have it on good authority that the book is greatly revised to be more in line with the film and it is a mostly new score. What songs they did retain have been re-imagined/re-orchestrated. Vanessa Williams has inherited Beth Leavel’s big number but the setting has changed and the number is now more techno than bluesy/jazzy. Design wise expect major changes and a LOT more fashion/catwalks especially in Act Two. Much of this was mentioned in a recent interview with Vanessa Williams where she gave away a lot of details. She credited Jerry Mitchell with the demands of the numerous changes and replacements within the creative team.

I knew when Jerry took over that the drab look of the show would at least be fixed and would most probably be very colorful. The music I was less hopeful about especially since Shaina Taub has been so busy with “Suffs” the past year but I do remain hopeful.

I was thinking the same but it does appear Elton has been behind the new material as anytime I have heard it mentioned, her name doesn't come up. Elton was quoted as saying how much he loathed the results of the Chicago production but based on recent readings in London, he has was super-charged about the potential of the revised version. I do hope they kept "Seen" for Nigel which was the one number I thought worked a charm.
