I wasn’t keen on Jodie but I’m not sure why. She was vocally amazing but I just didn’t connect to her acting as much.

You're allowed to film the end of the show! After the Queens bow after "Six" I've found to be the time to start and literally two seconds after this bow before the megasix/encore Cleves tells you to "get your phones out, you're gonna wanna film this". Filming during the main show is prohibited though. Not sure what I think about a show actively encouraging phone use during a show (it is actually in the script)...tend toward thinking it encourages bad behaviour but can see that in this digital age it gets the ‘word of mouth’ out there....what do others think? 🤔 It's just for a two minute encore section. During the main show phones use is discouraged

A couple of shows - like Waitress - also encourage filming during the bows and encore. As long as they are not encouraging use of phones during the show, I really do not mind it during the finale. I tend to think that Six may not have got so popular if the Megasix was not filmed by audiences, as people inevitably put their videos on social media, so plenty more people get exposed to the show and will buy tickets if they like what they see.

It’s a concert with some scripted dialogue.

I found pinky K Howard rather shrieky and shrill when she wasn't singing, and she was my least favourite yesterday. She still made me laugh, and I found her song more disturbingly creepy than Aimie Atkinson's version, which I suppose is a good thing. But yeah, preferred the other ladies. Overall, I think I enjoyed yesterday more than I enjoyed the west end cast (although I haven't seen the new cast there) - the dancing was a bit tighter, and it felt a bit funnier overall. Yes, that’s the one I was referring to. I didn’t like her very much in Heathers either. I thought Katherine Parr was a bit weak too. The others were ok but Jane Seymour was the stand out for me.

She came across a bit more... showy-offy perhaps than the others, to me. Maybe that's just the character, but I didn't feel that about Aimie Atkinson as K Howard.

I think Catherine Parr is the weakest part - she isn't very funny, especially compared to the others. She kinds of disappears a bit compared to the others.

I felt the same - I saw Aimie twice on the 2018 tour and I didn’t come away with the same feelings as I did with the 2019 tour.

I always thought Aimee made the character quite show-offy but certainly not to the point of disliking her. Her intro has some of the best laughs of the whole show and needs to be delivered with a bit of sark for it to work properly.
I do however like Vicki's interpretation better as she kind of plays her very Marilynish ie the clever dumb blonde.

Booked for Wolverhampton in March and have picked up two good seats.Nearly half the price of London tickets which surprised me.

Caught this in Chichester today. I enjoyed this and thought the cast was strong but think it lost something with the size of the theatre. I'm seeing the tour again in Brighton's Theatre Royal in March which feels smaller so would be interesting to see the cast again there.
Lots of uber fans in the audience. Really frustrating girl next to me kept singing along Luckily she wasn't too loud but I did find it particularly distracting during the finale when she decided to join in with the dancing too.

I saw some pictures of the stage in Chichester and I don’t feel like it works at all in the Festival. The set for Six is very small, and there is a big gap between the front of the set floor, and the actual front of the stage, as the Festival theatre was designed for thrust staging rather than proscenium/end-on which is what the Six set is like. It just feels rather disconnecting, especially compared to the intimacy of the Arts theatre and other venues on tour.

I was at the q&a on thurs night in chi, and they said they had to completely reblock the show because of the side seats. I sat both sides for the show and I'm glad as each side was restricted so could see different bits both times

I’m hoping they plop their stage front and centre at the Donald Gordon this week. Its a whopper to try & fill with such a small set.

Wow, needn’t have worried about this. It looked great with the shallow stage pushed right forward and plush regal purple curtains hiding it before it began. We had Harriet Watson on as Parr, but she disappeared for all of ‘All You Wanna Do’ and had a drink onstage with her so presumably wasn’t feeling great herself? Lauren Drew shone as Aragon; what a set of pipes she has eh? Jodie Steel was really quite funny and so much more suited to this than playing a high schooler. The stars of this are Moss & Marlow though. I didn’t think it would be my thing at all but its just very clever and hugely enjoyable.

This dipping out during AYWD seems to happen quite often now- I wonder if it's the agreed upon song that if you desperately need a break take it now, or if it's just a coincidence that people get that far and can't continue immediately. Feel bad for the others left there recoreographing!

Feel bad for the others left there recoreographing! Yeah wouldn't be surprised if it was. It's a long song (around 7 minutes I think) with choreography throughout so it would be the worst song to do if you were feeling ill or needed a break!

To be fair it worked just fine with four of them dancing around the outside of her rather than five.

Oooooh apparently I can't see this thread at work beyond page 6 because my work server says it's "offensive and tasteless". What did I miss?!!

Saw the tour last Thursday at the wmc. What a fun show! Was hoping to see Jodie Steele as has previously seen her in heathers but we had an understudy kate Howard. Have loved the cast recording for ages and the show was better than expected! Really funny and wow those girls can sing! Stand outs were Lauren drew (disappointingly in a temporary costume) and Jane Seymour (sorry not sure of the actresses name!). Heart of stone is not my favourite on the album but was phenomenal on stage! Took two friends who had never heard of it and now they are converted and listening to the album every day since! The fangirls were out in force in a packed WMC and audience reactions v enthusiastic from the minute the queens appeared! So lovely to see so many young people at the theatre. My friends and I now consider ourselves 30 something year old members of the queendom! Also shout out to the AMAZING sign language interpreter side of stage who deserves her own show!
