I’m fairly certain Nessarose is between Marissa Bode (the most likely candidate), Daisy Washington and Keira Allen.
I think Ethan’s casting is all we’re getting for today.
Via Twitter Jon M. Chu confirmed that filming started today and that we’re getting the rest of the casting “very soon…ish”

“Marissa Bode, Bowen Yang, Keala Settle, Bronwyn James, Aaron Teoh, and Michael Carmichael have joined the cast of Jon M. Chu's film adaptation of Wicked.
Deadline reports that Marissa Bode has joined the cast as Nessarose, Elphaba's younger sister.
Bowen Yang and Bronwyn James will play Shiz University classmates Pfannee and ShenShen, respectively.
Keala Settle will play Miss Coddle, with Aaron Teoh as Avaric and Michael Carmichael as Nikidik.”

pretty sure ‘Nikidik’ is the replacement teacher in the show that injects the lion .. and Coddle could be the officer with Morrible after Dear Old Shiz?? Wondering if they’ll be adding new characters though

I'm assuming Deadline are just printing casting as and when they find out about it?
It seems the only person not announced is Dr. Dillamond. I wonder if they have changed the role for the film version, because the actor/role is way, way, way down the call sheet at number 308.

Why would they do that though? Are they actively trying to confuse/alienate fans of the actual show that this is supposedly based on? Don’t they realise that most people just want to see their beloved characters and story and songs up there on screen? |

It would be a terrible idea to be honest. It’s an important part of the story that Morrible is a sort of mentor for Elphaba for most of Act I and is someone she trusts and likes, only for her to be revealed as one of the villains and end up as probably the most evil character in the whole show. The character journey from Morrible the headmistress to Morrible the press secretary can be brilliant if played by a strong enough actress.

In a fun twist I was just called an attention seeking loser on Reddit for posting that I was sure Nessarose was going to be played by Marissa Bode. The person said they already knew and I must have found the same way they did, after reading a post on this site … which was posted by me. Isn’t the internet fun?

Unfortunately it's not Idina. Her and Kristin are doing something together, or at least planning to, depending on availability.

They are part of the Wizomania cast They were originally looking for a black actress for Melana but i'm assuming that has changed since Nessa was cast. |
