I wonder if it might see a transfer given how well it's sold. There's a gap between Mother Goose closing and The Pillowman opening at the Duke of York's so could fit in there for a short run. The Phoenix is another option. According to mrbarnaby a major play is heading to the Phoenix.

Probably depends on the reviews and Mescal's schedule.
I *think* Barnaby said a new play based on existing material is going to the Phoenix. If that is the case it couldn't be Streetcar.

Has anyone been to a relaxed environment performance at the Almeida before? There was only one showing left with tickets available so I snapped them up but now I see it's a relaxed environment performance. It says in the email this allows for 'noise and movement in the auditorium' - I don't mind some background noise but I'm just worried it might be too distracting. I realise it's my own fault for not checking before I bought and it's good they do these kinds of showings, but I want to know what I'm in for! I went to a relaxed performance of Spring Awakening. There was an announcement that people could leave and come back during the performance, and I think the house lights weren’t as dark as usual. As far as I recall, there was actually no noise or movement during the show and only one person left. So on that occasion, no issues.

It's so interesting that the star billing can switch between Blanche and Stanley but rarely both. Will chance my arm in Jan.

I've got 2 £10 tickets to see this on January 6th but I'm now in New York to catch the last week of Beetlejuice in case anyone fancied swapping with me for something before the end of the year? So desperate to see this but the call of Alex Brightman was too strong.

There's an announcement due from the Almeida about the run of Streetcar, I think it will come before the weekend, so probably best to hold on to your tickets until then and try and sort out ticket swaps after that.

Whens the Oscars? i assume aftersun means Mescal MAY have to bail on performances now I can't see the Academy going mad for Aftersun, as brilliant as I thought it was. I think it might be a bit too low-key to get big noms. Happy to be proved wrong though. When Lesley Manville had to fly over for the Oscars in 2018 while doing Long Day's Journey in the WE, I don't think she missed a performance. Flew straight out after the Saturday night performance and was back for the start of the next week.

I think Aftersun is inevitably going to be snubbed this Oscars season. Its not in the conversation as much as it should be.

Patsy Ferran is now playing Blanche.
Really sad news for Lydia. I thought she was very very good in The 47th.

An interesting choice, maybe not the first that would come to mind, really looking forward to what Patsy will bring to the role as she never disappoints, this casting makes it a must see for me and glad I already have my ticket.

Love Patsy Ferran. I would watch her read a phone book (except we don’t have those anymore!) What a shame for all concerned though…always tough when an actor has to pull out for health reasons.

I saw the email header and didn't want to click to see the change. Quite the cast change. Disappointment for Lydia, hope she's well soon.
