No Forced metaphor. Maybe she should have used the word Plays instead. Yes, exactly

Wasn't it more the grimace that upset people? I mean, we are all entitled to our likes and dislikes, but the grimace just felt like she dismissed not only the art-form but anybody who loves musicals. (She's also allowed to grimace; I'd grimace if someone asked me if I liked Harry Potter, or if I was going to see the plays. But then again, nobody knows me, but we all know her. So that's what makes it different... )
No bile, as such, from me.

She has a great deal of influence over people, and young people in particular.
'nuff said.

Jk Rowling is a very successful author, never a playwright.

Not sure I place too much store in a newspaper journalist trying to write an interesting article in correctly describing a fleeting expression.

Im not in the least bit bothered by her opinions re musicals as an art form. I was more concerned at the way it came across as implying musical theatre actors were less talented or capable Just my interpretation of what the journalist wrote though

But-unfortunately- these days every little facial expression, gesture, word... will be heavily scrutinised by many. I suspect we are all becoming the scrutinisers (if that's a word!) If the grimace is the truth, it was unwise really, as she is surrounding herself with many- actors, directors, producers- who have been/are all involved in.... musicals (cue theatrical grimace!)

Its the modern way sadly.

Am I the only one who is feeling a little bad for the guys of the A Very harry Potter Musical trilogy right now? I know there were previously lawsuit issues with it. JK let it go after they edited the version that is now on YouTube (so that it doesn't include copyrighted words)

Their hilarious, catchy and surprisingly accurate songs are just unbeatable!

In the case of Potted Potter and A Very Potter Musical, it was Warner Bros rather than JK Rowling as they own the copyright and trademarks to the Harry Potter characters and name, JK herself owns the publishing and theatrical rights.

Just seen her on TV at the Palace talking about the plays... (I think the last time I saw her was when she read aloud at the London Olympics opening ceremony.) In her defence that "grimace" might just have been the work she's had done. Almost unrecognisable!
