Saw The Lord of the Rings.Visually stunning with some terrific direction and designs.T Yeaaa... right. We had got front row seats in the stalls through TKTS and then that massive spider lumbered onto the stage... good times for this arachnophobe  I can deal with Spiderman landing right in front of me but that thing was a bridge too far. |

CALENDAR GIRLS and
BEND IT LIKE BECKHAM
in the WestEnd.
And as one of the rare Cats-Fans I would have loved to see the version at the Kilworth House Theatre. Loved the set a d the costumes I have seen online. And the cast seemed really talented.

This is kind of cheating since as far as I'm aware it's not even been on in the UK during my lifetime (at least not in any major productions) but I've recently become quite obsessed with the Nine OBCR and surely it must be due a revival already? It's seemingly been almost 30 years since it was professionally done in London anyway (and I can't find any other recent UK productions from my very brief googling).

Both Nine and Grand Hotel haven't had a major UK revival since they were done memorably at the Donmar. Both would merit investigation by a talented director/choreographer. (Interesting that Nine seems to be very popular in South America and Spain. Maybe it plays better in Spanish or Portuguese than in English with a sprinkling of Italian which can be tricky to do well.)

Stephen Ward, out of sheer curiosity! That’s one I wished I’d never seen, still get nightmares lol I really regret not seeing Starlight Express, love the music now but was just not interested at the time. I would love to see Martin Guerre done again. The WaterMill did a good version and I hoped it would transfer but never did. |

Time - the Musical. I know it's been regarded as not a brilliant show, but I do like a lot of the songs that I've heard on the soundtrack, so would be keen to see it. On a similar note I've never seen Return to the Forbidden Planet either.
I'm surprised that The Who's Tommy hasn't had more productions. I'd love to see a version of that on stage.

When I did my SM degree my tutor kept going on and on about “Time” being the most technologically advanced show ever made etc. I tried talking about Spider-Man, LotR, she hadn’t seen them but shut me down with a “you’re wrong”. Its either the most incredible show ever or my tutor was stuck in the eighties. (She didn’t know a D3 from a fresnel and gave a course in lighting - seriously) |

It's not that it was actually any good, mind you, so I guess it'd purely be nostalgia for me. I still play the concept album from time to time and weirdly enjoy it - it's something of a guilty pleasure. I'd also love to see someone stage The Time Lord - the original fringe musical which was the seed from which Time grew. Did anyone here see that? I guess it was the late seventies or early eighties. |

I'd like to see a revival of Bashville, the Denis King/Benny Green musical based on the GBS novel/play (Cashel Byron's Profession/The Admirable Bashville). I saw the original production (1984) in Regents Park and enjoyed it very much. Douglas Hodge played the eponymous, though not the lead, role, which was played by Peter Woodward. Very good score.

Pipe Dream. I'd love to finish the R+H cannon and I've only 3 to go. It was on at The Union years ago and coincided exactly with my dates for being away on holiday so I missed it.
I loved LOTR, the most spectacular thing I've ever seen. Stephan Ward mainly left me a bit puzzled about why it was a thing.
