2 days after Mr Radcliffe's birthday, and incidentally, the exact day of mine.

They confirm that "The security staff have been asked to confiscate certain food items on entry to the theatre," but have arrangements in place for cases like mine, so that it won't be a problem. The arrangement is that the food must be wrapped in banknotes.

... and the £:Galleon exchange rate isn't great at the moment... I think trading's been suspended until after the referendum result is known.

Perhaps the weather forecast on 30 July is for rain and so they moved the opening night. Today's news suggests that London can't cope with rain.

I'm confused by the whole opening night being brought forward. There are no performances on either the 25 or 26, so unless they are planning an additional performance, Monday the 25th can't be opening night (also, isn't it weird that opening night would be on a Monday?) I think it's more the case of the review embargo being lifted earlier than planned.
I have tickets for the 27th, 28th and 29th. So this means I'm certainly watching the play after it's been frozen. Quite happy about that!

So without spoilers is it worth going to part 2 tomorrow having suffered at the hands of the rail network today. ATG were most unhelpful and wouldnt let me exchange. Im going end of July anyway so its not long to wait

I think it's more the case of the review embargo being lifter earlier than planned. That's what seems to be being reported. The Stage makes it completely clear now: "Critics will be allowed to review the play five days earlier after the press embargo was brought forward to one minute past midnight on July 26. [...] However, the show will still be holding its opening gala on July 30, with the play’s script due to be published at midnight on July 31."

Probably the world press want to attend and so they've decided to do Part 1 and Part 2 the Monday and Tuesday. Saturday is most probably going to be a celebrity gala rather than press. If press is free to publish review at 12:01 on July 26th, the press performances must take place before that. Which is what TheStage.co.uk is reporting as well: "Producers did not give a reason for bringing forward the press performances, which will now take place over a period of a few days before July 26."

It's very much one singular play split down the middle. Completely agree. And I thought part 1 was the better part. I would definitely want to see that first!

Has anybody sat in Stalls BB? Just checked the seating plan in the theatremonkey website but the row is not there. Is BB the very front row? Just booked through the Friday Forty scheme and I was wondering what the view would be like. Thanks in advance.

I'm enjoying the Harry Potter related humour here, but I can't laugh much, because honestly the referendum result has left me feeling a bit... Sickle...

I had a Friday Forty ticket for the second preview, located in Row AA which was definitely the front row at the time. I'm not 100% sure but I think BB may actually have been the second row - so, AA, BB, then A, B, and so on. Leg room was excellent in AA (enough for an interval ice cream queue to form between it and the stage), but I did miss some bits at the back of the stage and anything happening low down from around the middle of the stage to the back. Still very good for the price, though.

Nice to hear people are getting the Friday 40 tickets, I mean of course people are going to get them but having them post on here makes it seem more possible. How quickly does the wizard move if you are lucky? Does it zoom straight across in one go and straight to booking? I really thought I was in with a chance today as my wizard went over 3/4 of the way but then it was paused so it didn't work out but usually it's gone one or two little blocks.

So how does it work exactly? At what times do you guys open the ticketing site? It's a raffle, correct? So it's not really a first come first served situation, thus it wouldn't matter how much in advance you logged in.

When I got through I had the page open on my laptop, iPad and phone just before 1pm, and there was a countdown. When that got to zero at 1pm I hit the button to join the queue on all three devices - I can't remember exactly what it said, but the page changed to show I was now queuing and there was a wizard walking. The wizard basically never progressed at all on the laptop or iPad, and I didn't actually realise it was moving on the phone at first as it was fairly slow. Once I'd noticed that one was moving I kept my eye on it and it just kept moving quite slowly but steadily. After about 10 minutes the wizard made it to the end and there was a message about being transferred to booking, followed by the calendar. One of the performances was yellow for limited availability, but the next one was green, so I jumped on that one and it worked. Ticket confirmation email came through at 1.16pm.
I presume it just randomly picks from the queue - there was no option to queue early. I really couldn't have been more surprised when it worked!

When I got the Friday forty tickets the little wizard started about 1/4 of the way across and moved pretty steadily across. Thanks for letting me know, I'll keep on trying and hope my wizard jumps and walks nice and steadily one day. So how does it work exactly? At what times do you guys open the ticketing site? It's a raffle, correct? So it's not really a first come first served situation, thus it wouldn't matter how much in advance you logged in. Yes, there's no need to be on the site really early, it won't make a difference. There's a timer that counts down on the ticket information page. When it gets to 1pm the timer turns into a "book tickets" button. Pressing that takes you to a page which tells you you'll be put into the queue. After a minute or two that page turns into a page with a wizard that walks along a bar. If your wizard gets to the end I guess you get to the the booking process. After a few minutes of walking the wizard stops when the queue is paused. This is when people are buying their tickets. Only once so far has the queue resumed after being paused. Edit: sorry for the repetition

Apologies if this has already been discussed, but have they done away with the idea of a daily ticket lottery?

Apologies if this has already been discussed, but have they done away with the idea of a daily ticket lottery? Yes they have. The original plan was to do a daily lottery of 20 tickets AND a weekly lottery of 20 tickets per show. But they later decided to just do the weekly one with 40 available tickets per show.

Have any of you tried or plan to try the stage door? From pictures I've seen on Twitter it looks MENTAL. I'm assuming the actors are only doing it after the evening shows and not after the matinees? I went there on 16th and 17th and it didn't feel mental, at least not as mental as I've seen for things with big-name stars in them. The crowd was friendly and quite polite, and there wasn't some terrible urgency - I was sitting at the balcony, so it was quite a way down, but when I got to the stage door, there wasn't a crowd yet. After part 1 we only got the young cast there. Sam Clemmett and Anthony Boyle were both absolutely charming. After part 2 the crowd was indeed bigger and all the leads signed stuff and did selfies.
