Well done Chicago, you got to the end of your run! See you in another few years...

I liked the show when I saw it earlier in the year but I can’t help but feel that the relentless stunt casting conveyor belt cheapens the experience. I am not against stunt casting per se but Chicago seems to have all its eggs in that basket.
Maybe a re design of the show would bring more punters in?

Seems to have been a lot of short term Roxie's around Sarah opening and returning to the role. Strange they go to the cost of rehearsing another "celeb" Roxy for under 4 weeks of the run remaining. I'd guess Sarah has other stuff lined up or wants Xmas off otherwise she'd have finished the run.
Full marks to Josefina for doing a long run and then returning tom play the more physically demanding role of Velma too.

Did anyone watch “A Hotel for the Super Rich and Famous” on Bbc1 last night. Cuba Gooding Jnr was interviewed while staying in a suite at the 5 star London hotel Corinthia for the duration of his time on the show. I hope he wasnt having the cost of his accommodation covered by The Producers

Which stars get cars and don't etc. Would be interesting to know, some may have their own driver etc. I've seen lots of top US stars in theatres having cars laid on but can remember David Hyde-Pierce being happy to use the tube.

I'm seeing this live for the first time ever today! I'm certainly intrigued to see if I enjoy it much as I do the movie.

Well, Caroline is giving one of the worst performances I ever seen. Good god, she is barely acting, there is no emotion, she is just about singing. She isn't even trying with the dancing. "Reached Out For The Gun" she didn't even try! I don't think it's a coincidence that once "Roxie" began, several audience members just happened to choose that moment for a toilet break. Whoever cast her made a huge mistake because it is just embarrassing to watch and she is hardly making a difference at the box office either. January is a hard time for everyone, so save your money y'all, don't waste your time, effort or money.

Detached from reality is a possible interpretation of Roxie - as are bonkers, psycho, scheming, and having a bad day Roxie . Comatose Roxie isn't though.
Its what happens when you cast according to who won,or nearly won,or was a pro in SCD
Thats why the talented MT stars spent years training, or years learning how to act and sing with the best.

If he wasn't doing stand up next year, I would've imagined Jason Manford as Billy Flynn in this. Especially after doing Curtains.

The entire theatre industry is on its knees and frankly the announcement of any major tour happening is to be celebrated. You might be bored of it but Chicago is a familiar crowd-pleaser and is therefore perfect for drawing regional audiences back into the theatres. Frankly I don’t care what the show is...the important thing is that the industry starts functioning again!

Why should the regional audiences have to suffer through this again? I wouldn't go if it was the first show to open in London, unless they put a put in a huge star that i was interested in seeing, and when was the last time Chicago did that??
And no, I shouldn't just be supporting any show that comes around and be grateful for it.

And it's also super cheap to produce, so it's really a win-win situation

And no, I shouldn't just be supporting any show that comes around and be grateful for it. Regional audiences don't have to suffer through anything. If they don't like Chicago, then they don't buy a ticket to see it. But the fact that this has toured so much over the years suggests there is enough demand for it. I see it as good news that producers are still planning new tours despite the current situation. And a tried and tested production makes sense.

In the current circumstances you should be celebrating that producers are willing to plan and announce anything. Exactly. I saw this on a Twitter post today: "Theatre is in crisis. Our stages are dark, the workforce uncertain, and so much stands to be lost."So any new productions should be welcomed, whether it's a show you like or not. It's bringing money and jobs back into an industry that is really suffering.

Yes, it seems that some people don't support theatre, they just support theatre that they like. Besides, I love Chicago!

But most people will only support the theatre they like, when theatres finally reopen there aren't suddenly going to be people who hate musicals buying up tickets for musicals. They'll be buying tickets, as before, in relation to their tastes.
I don't like rugby so it would be odd for me to support sport by buying tickets to rugby.

When theatres finally re-open, I could even be tempted by Thriller.
