Such a tease
Joseph - won't be that JCS - seems unlikely Evita starring EP as Peron...? By Jeeves - not a chance Starlight - again not a chance Phantom - still running Aspects - I could see this returning with Mr Ball as George rather than Alex
After that we aren't really in early years ALW

Aspects of Love with Michael Ball as George? Was about to guess exactly that! I can't decide how I would feel about it, other than old.

Directed by someone who’s done a couple of musical revivals Laurence Conner? Personally I hope it's JCS.

Doubt Les Mis or Cursed Child are going anywhere, so that leaves the Apollo, the Lyric, the Gielgud and the Shaftesbury? Unless they're going the pie shop route and building a space, but probably unlikely. I hope whatever it is isn't destined for the Shaftesbury. I know it's selling pitifully, but I really wouldn't want & Juliet to close.

Those clues would indicate a possible Company connection...
Aspects with Rosalie Craig as Rose...?

I don't think the 2012 Ball/Staunton Sweeney counts as recent enough to mean MB would be George but it is not impossible

Is it Evita, with LuPone playing Eva’s mother?

Please be Aspects. Although, I wonder how well it'd sell....

mrbarnaby You haven’t made the classic mistake of thinking ALW wrote Chess, have you?

Based on the hints, I think it's between Aspects of Love, By Jeeves or Tell Me On a Sunday/Song and Dance.

Aspects of Love with Michael Ball as George? My immediate thought

I'd be very surprised at Aspects of Love being a success, even with Michael Ball as the draw. The term "major" is the key thing here. Aspects bombed on tour with David Essex last time it got a full staging. "Major" makes me think a prominent theatre, large cast. Whilst Aspects did perfectly fine (and was quite good) at the Southwark Playhouse a few years back, the show has frankly never done that great.
I could see it, or Love Never Dies, being done somewhere like the Charing Cross Theatre ala "The Woman in White", but I'd not class that as "major revival".
Woman in White also sold poorly unfortunately.
