Almost certainly my last trip tonight and what a show.
Burt was out and Ridings LWL was extraordinary. Dee and Young were also more than capable replacements.
It felt like there was a bit more comedy business in some numbers particularly Peters in Hello, Little Girl.
And front row to the right of the actors is definitely the best place to experience Bradley Jaden in all his wolf glory.
Everyone knocked it out of the park, I've been lukewarm on Gavin Lee's Would I Leave You but it had some added venom tonight and was the best I've seen from him.
Pretty much everything was better than ever particularly Gimmick, Roses, I'm Still Here, Losing My Mind and Clowns.
It felt like a lot of the audience had seen this before and the response was rapturous.
And yes Peters is clearly having to protect her knee and didn't get involved in the dancing.

Clare out again?? She was off 2 weeks ago no? She also missed a couple earlier in the run! I guess the weather is very cold now (assuming that’s what it is). I’d think everyone would try to pull through for the last week.
Though I’d pay to watch Jo’s LWL one more time.

I'm not surprised, everyone is ill at the moment.

Illness has been doing the rounds at the Gielgud for the past fortnight - they're properly clinging on to the end n

It was all so good but I think the highlight for me was Bonnie's 'I'm Still Here'. It was just superb.

Your best bet is trying to get a rush ticket tomorrow as I don’t think there will be anymore offers for the rest of the week. Or get a £30 in the Grand circle and upgrade for £20/30 once you’re there (if there are better seats available).

Glynis Johns who first sang "Send in the clowns" died today at the age of 100. I wonder whether there will be any reference to her at tonight's performance.

Anyone in tonight and know if Clare Burt is back? I'm happy to report she was! The only thing I noticed that was different from my October visit was Bernadette not doing the Broadway Baby dancing. She very discreetly exited stage right. The only thing I didn't like about being second to last row of the stalls is that they leave 2 rows of house lights on. Very distracting! I'm Still Here got the biggest reception of the night along with Losing My Mind, Send in the Clowns and Everything's Coming Up Roses.

It’s interesting how you describe it as ‘very discreetly exits’. Isn’t she directed to kind of throw up her arms and walk off the stage in protest? That’s how I saw it.
CLOSING TONIGHT!

I noticed Bernadette had her knee strapped up so I suspect that might be why she no longer does the kick line.

Yes she's got an injury so is on a reduced physical track on stage.

The matinee this afternoon was so good!

Went to the Matinee this afternoon for my final visit and it was sublime as ever!
It was a truly magical atmosphere and all the cast were superb. There wasn't really any last muck up matinee shenanigans just a bit more cheekiness from Bernadette with Bradley as the wolf. Janie was hilarious during "The Boy From..."
I noticed poor Bernadette's knee and as other people have said she leaves now before the full line up of ladies in "Broadway Baby"....but she still played the trumpet through her legs in "Gotta have a gimmick" highly impressive!
I finally had Jason Pennycooke as he has been off on my previous visits, I enjoyed his "Buddy's Blues" and got the audience clapping (which I don't know if that has happened before as I have always had Damian).
It has been a joy to see this show and it is a real homage to the late great Sondheim. The talent on stage has been joyous to watch. It would be nice to have some more Sondheim on the West End next!

Was there tonight in the Grand Circle slips (the view was pretty atrocious and my legs were complaining after about fifteen minutes or so) but I thoroughly enjoyed it: my knowledge of Sondheim is extremely limited (West Side Story, Into The Woods and Sweeney Todd was about it) but after seeing Here We Are just before Christmas I thought it would be rude not to try to see it before it’s gone.
