I travelled from London on Tuesday to see this, travelling by train so had to have an overnight stay. I enjoyed it so much that I booked an extra day at my accommodation for Wednesday night and went to see it again. It's a wonderful, full on show, how Charlie Stemp can even keep the energy up in this heat I do not know as at one point in Act 1 his shirt was just soaked through with sweat. A highlight for me is I have a friend who is in it who I haven't seen for a couple of years, and a long catchup over a few beers in a favoured local hostelry on both evenings was the icing on the cake. I'm going for one last visit on 2nd September because it's just so good. If you do get a chance to see it, grab it with both hands, I don't think you'd be disappointed. Could you give me an idea of where you stayed as I really want to see this but feel I can't manage the trek from London and back in a day anymore. I find it really tiring and get home exhausted. I looked at Premier Inn but it was over £100 for a room and was told I'd still need to get a taxi as the hotel isn't in the centre so any advice would be great.

There is a Travelodge in town which is within walking distance from the theatre.

There are several ‘rooms above pubs’ within half a mile if you search in Hotels.com; all under £100. Any actual hotels seem further out and extortionate.

I stayed at a B&B about a 10 minute walk from the theatre. It’s called the cottage, was £65 per night and was spotlessy clean. Also, it’s not possible to see an evening performance and get back to London the same night by public transport.

Is there any indication that this may transfer? There are rumours, but nothing concrete yet.

I've searched online and nothing under £100, even Travelodge and rooms above pubs, so that's a decent price. I usually do matinee as know you can't do the evening show and get back to London and home but the last couple of years I've even found doing the matinee a very long and tiring day. About 13 hours door to door for me

Always worried i would arrive and find the place doesn't exist or no key and can't get in. But maybe I should consider it.

How about an overnighter in Crawley...said no one ever. I actually overnighted in Crawley about 40 years ago when flying out from Gatwick the next day. It was in the days before there were proper airport hotels at Gatwick.

The Gatwick Hilton - attached to the south terminal - was certainly there 40 years ago.

I saw this yesterday and loved it. The dancing was sensational and it was lovely to hear Gershwin's melodies being performed by a full, lush orchestra. There were 14 musicians. In the past people have criticised the band/orchestra at Chichester for sounding tinny, but this was full throttle.
I too preferred Charlie Stemp as Bela Zangler rather than Bobby but I think that is just the way the part is written - Bela is much more fun.

Travelodge Chichester is available for under £30 right now on Monday 29 August (Bank Holiday) if that helps anyone. Most nights, it's over £100.
Do check the trains are running, as there's often engineering work on Bank Holiday weekends. They look fine to and from London.

I’d be pretty sure this will be heading to the Prince Edward theatre next year. The same theatre where Crazy for You started life back in the 90’s. And Cameron will bring it in.

Is there any indication that this may transfer? They are putting an embargo on costumes etc so it seems likely
