In last night for a third time, and for the first time with Gina Beck, who I loved! It’s such a great show in fantastic shape. Quite a lot of empty seats though

I saw it for the third time this afternoon and it was just as brilliant as the first 2 times. There were empty seats, such a shame but no matter how brilliant we tell everyone it is, some people just won’t go and see ‘old fashioned’ shows.

Although, it's been on a while now... perhaps it's time for it to move on.

Anybody aware of deals on seats (rather than standing)? Looked at usual suspects (TKTS/TodayTix/Central) but not coming up with much other than Bridge prices +10%.

I'm at the matinee show now. 2 show stops so far. Intermission started about 4.10/4.15
The cast board said Tamika as miss Adelaide, but it's not.

They also skipped the intermission entertainment. The entire row in front of me was empty :-( And the cast board was incorrect. It showed all original cast, but there were at least 3 others on for main roles.

That's a terrible experience, why did it keep stopping?

That's a terrible experience, why did it keep stopping? I'm not sure. I always get the feeling it's something to do with the stage not going up/down? The boyfriend texted they need to WD40 it, lol (I've had show stops before with this show). The first stop was mid-song ("The Oldest Established"), lights went on, it got so quiet, everyone went off stage and then we had an announcement. People clapped when they went off and came back on, took about 10 minutes. We then got a joke from Nathan Detroit "What can I do, I'm broke, like the theatre" lol. The second stop was when Sky takes Sarah back to New York (after "If I were a Bell") and the band plays a tune, it played the first notes of that and then just stopped. So the audience claps, and the lights go on, and the people next to me are like "oh, good, intermission" and I'm like: no not yet, there's supposed to be another 5-10 minutes of showtime. Stop was about 5 minutes. Personally I wasn't bothered as I've seen it many times now, but I can imagine if you've not seen it before and then also not getting the intermission song/tapdance it's dissapointing not getting the entire experience. Act 2 went perfectly fine. All in all, about 20 minutes longer, I walked out the door at 17h45.

Saw this on Friday night and absolutely loved it. I always enjoy the standing experience at The Bridge at this was no exception. The music sounded gorgeous and I was constantly marvelling at how well organised the crew are, moving the audience around as well as all the set pieces. Cast was faultless too, I particularly enjoyed Nathan and Adelaide. Would absolutely be lining up to see this again if I still lived in London.
Oh, and my friend and I ended up on one of the cabaret tables which rose up after the interval- how fun! We really enjoyed our Dulce de Leches while watching the interval show. Wish I'd worn more sparkles so I'd have blended in a little better.

I caught this on the weekend after leaving it for a year or so and I was surprised at the energy of the audience and cast quality. A wonderful production of guys and dolls - in my opinion the best we’ll ever see - and nice that that the show is going away in good shape. I’d love to be standing in the audience for the closing if I wasn’t already pre occupied.

I can see a stalls ticket (under orchestra, but in the right turn) for 25,20£ for this Thursday evening show.

Me again I only went to yesterdays matinee because of the TodayTix drop, that had a stalls ticket (BB13, the other side accross the band) down to 39,90£ I think it was, and then I had some TodayTix cash to use, and only payed just under 28£, score! lol It was a really great seat. The tiering is quite high, so even the tall-ish person in front of me wasn't obstruction my view at all, I just looked completely over him and saw the stage perfectly. Gina wasn't on for Sarah, I've seen this girl many times before but I need to look up who she is, Charlotte Scott I think? Harry the Horse was someone else, and Dtc Brannigan was TJ Lloyd. The cast board showed all original cast again (same as last week, but incorrect for a few characters), so I don't know who some were To which the boyfriend made a good point last night, if they don't actually update/or forgot it people will think that's who they see on stage but it isn't and takes away a little bit for the person who is actually on stage. (I get when someone falls ill last minute or something, but like last week Timmika was on holiday and still had her name on it). FOH was on it that afternoon. Couple next to me, little bit annoying at times, didn't know how to whisper, and the guy was taking pictures when the show started, FOH was straight on him, and even then after he kept unlocking his phone on the camera setting waiting for good moments to take pictures I suppose, but I think he noticed how on the ball they were and never actually took any more pictures. Girl in front kept looking at her phone, until it finally dropped to the ground, couldn't help myself saying "that's what you get ..." And when the 2nd act started some guy behind was filming, the guy sitting next to him also said "put the phone away please you're distracting", but FOH was on that too very quickly. Safe to say, I think I found my new favorite show. It's just one of them, I'm not getting tired of the songs, or the jokes, it stays funny, the songs stay enjoyable to listen (and watch) and even though I didn't see the previous cast but this cast to me is just amazing, and at the moment it's kind of like my comfort/happy place. I'm not always fond of new things, so I tend to stick with what I know and familiar with, and I'm a bit miffed at myself for not having seen this show much earlier. Everytime I see a show I'm buzzing until a few days later, because it just puts me in such a good mood, and it helps me a lot getting through a hard life.

You're probably bored of me, but we finally did the standing at yesterdays matinee! And I can now say: I will not be doing that again I tried to not stay too far to the back, yet I almost bumped into so many charaters when they were trying to get on stage a couple of times and I kind of just felt like a nuisance really. It was quite busy, so many school childeren, so also didn't really want to be standing in the crowd either. It did seem there was a little bit more of a singing along in the standing area, not like loud singing, but I could see many whispering/mouthing along. It was great to see more of the facial expressions there's so much more eye contact at certain times which you just don't notice from the Gallery seats and to be able to walk around and see things better at certain angles. The boyfriend got excited as he wanted to be picked during "Gusy and Dolls", he loves that kind of stuff. I on the other hand really don't, so who does Nathan points to when they are looking for a doll to go to Havanna? Yep, this one. Don't know what's happening with the cast board for at least these past 3 weeks I've been, but Sky was an understudy (who was very different in singing voice, but really great) but the main cast was listed. Other then that, once again great energy from the entire cast, "Sit down you're rocking the boat", I swear, it gets better and more intense every single time, love it!

I've just booked for next week's matinee (seated, I'd never do promenade-type standing) & thought matinees would probably have a quietish, mostly older audience. It never occurred to me that a show like Guys & Dolls would have school groups visiting.

But it did feel like for a matinee, that was the busiest I've seen it so far I felt. And I've been 9 times now, and 7 of those were Thursday matinee shows.

It's because they have a very reduced rate for standing tickets on Thursday matinee for schools, only 15£ per student. I've never seen them in the galleries, so that shouldn't be an issue.

Has this been - or is it likely to be - filmed for a cinema 'live' screening? Many previous Bridge production have, and now it is nearing the end of the run, a 2025 cinema showing would be great to look forward to.
