I’d be happy with either Yvie or Brooklyn. Can barely decide between the two: both tick so many different boxes for me

I do wonder what you’d get from seeing either of those two in a show though. Brooke looks fab and dances, and doesn’t seem to really do much more, Yvie? What does she do apart from lipsync and look a bit interesting? The top four are all rather one dimensional except for.... well, y’know who I mean, who is undoubtedly messy but overall more interesting.

For me, drag is about transformation and performance. It is the illusion that is a big part of it for me.
Yvie for me is a performance artist - and there is nothing wrong with that. But I don't see what she does as being part of the drag tradition that I enjoy.
Her reunion look was just wrapping herself in a robe, putting a towel on her head and putting a green facemask on. There was none of the effort that all of the other contestants on that stage had put in. Sure, she had a concept and delivered on it. But it isn't enough for me. It feels lazy and cheap. Fair enough that many queens don't have huge financial resources - but they still make more of an effort.
I wouldn't ever be interested in seeing Yvie perform live. But I would love to see Nina, Brooke, even Silky on stage

Brook's outfit looked very similar to The costume Norma Desmond wears for her visit to Paramount studios.
Nina has to be Miss Congeniality, right?

What a weak finale so far.
1 hour of padding until the first lip sync. It was close.
2nd Lip sync was an utter mess. Yvie did not deserve to win. Akeria also didn't deserve to go through.
Final showdown should have been Silky v Brooke

As I said earlier, that was the result I expected.
But it was not the right decision.
Utter mess of a first lip sync
Dull performance in the second
She did not earn that win
She was given it because of Ru's seeming obsession with quirky and different. Yvie was not the best drag queen on the night and certainly not the best drag queen of the season.
Wrong decision.
Brooke was the strongest contestant of the season and deserved to win.
Very pleased for Nina to walk away with Miss C - that was deserved.
Yvie - a performance artist but not the future of drag. |

Well I loved the finale.,the right two in the final lip sync. I was happy for either of the two to win the crown, so I was pleased with the final outcome,
And I was thrilled for the Miss Congeniality recipient: absolutely the right choice.

I’m with@BoOverall about the final lipsynch although I think the format of the finale needs a rethink. How I long for when Sasha Velour won, that felt like so much more of a spectacle. This was really just several well timed death drops and a lot of de-wigging. I was worried Yvie might trip on Akeria’s discarded clothing, having them onstage together just always looks so muddled to me.
Loved seeing Christine and the Queens, although I struggled to recognise a lot of the actual Queens on the stage. Home viewers could have had indents.
Really, this is Vanjie’s season.

Think Yvie's first lip sync was a mess but better than what little Akeria was doing but completely disagree about the final lip sync and think she definitely deserved to win. Brooke was prancing around the stage doing pirouettes which is just not the mood of the song whatsoever and thought it was refreshing to have a lip sync without a reveal for once, especially one in a big gown which are notorious for hiding reveals (not to mention she flipped in a gown like excuse me?).

I know there are plenty on TeamYvie - but not once did I see the appeal throughout the entire series. I would go and see Nina perform, I would go and see Brooke perform, heck I would even go and see Scarlet perform. But there is nothing in what Yvie does that makes me think that is a drag performer I want to see live.
Yes, there are elements of performance art there. But there is not enough transformation for me, not enough finesse - and, at times, not enough effort (her reunion look for instance was just lazy)
A series filled with manipulation and disappointment.
AS5 is about to start filming - let's hope that is allowed to flow more naturally. I am so over the contrived storylines and producer-led decisions. Let the queens be queens.

Silky choosing Brook took a while. There was no way she was going to go up against Yvie, who she has been vile to all season, she wasn't going to go up against her friend Akeria, so it could only be Brook, who would dance her off the stage. Silky's performance was a mess of terrible reveals and being on the floor. I thought Brook's performance was great, and much better use of her pointe skills than previously.
The 2nd lip synch was a strange one. Yvie's costume did nothing to help and Akeria's performance was very generic and i've seen it all before. A tough call.
I like that Yvie didn't use a big reveal or death drops to win the competition. Yes she can do some great back bends and used the well but that head piece was fantastic. Although i did like Brook's meta 'Reveal' cover, everything after that was predictable.
I would have been happy with either of those 2 winning and thrilled for Nina.

i watched some of it the other day and it just made me cringe. It was trying way too hard and Ru would really laugh at everything that wasn't even that funny.

It is a curious attempt and it just keeps failing to deliver decent interviews.
I have watched most of the episodes and I am not sure I will now go back for any more.
Too many of the guests just sit there spouting platitudes/stuff out of cheap self-help books. There is no real substance to anything Ru is asking.
It is quite fun to have the audience walking the runway. But it just isn't good enough as a chat show.

Oh thank God, the first promo they put out was utterly pointless.
At least you can tell what they're actually like in this one and even better we don't have to look at Yvie Oddly...
