Now Reno sorted it will be interesting to see who is in the other roles as this will tour before the London opening so if the province's will get the full London cast or if they bring in names at the Barbican.
I presume the Barbican prices for 2022 are the high end as they were this year whereas locally you can get two top tickets for the price of one top Barbican seat.

True, there's a lot of people I'd rather see, but it isn't an absurd idea by any means. I'd perhaps be concerned about the quality of her tap dancing... with that in mind, Wayne Sleep? |

She could sing it just fine, and it's a big cheesy, hammy character part anyway. I wouldn't cast her in it and she wouldn't be a patch on Sutton Foster, but she could play the part just fine. Sheridan is a pretty solid dancer incidentally, I'm not sure where this myth about her practically having two left feet even came from. I just wouldn't want her front and centre carrying two big tap dance production numbers. It's not going to happen anyway, so relax.

Was waiting for Sheridans name to come up.
What a sad state of affairs when we have so few leading ladies to choose from, and some- like her- mediocre when it comes to singing and dancing.
Just waiting for someone to say Jenna Russell or Kerry Ellis.

I saw Caroline O’Connor in the Australian tour and she was absolutely fab, she had a real youthfulness to her performance. She did read a bit too old then so I think she’d look even older now.

I think Sheridan Smith would actually be a good Reno Sweeney, just not in this particular production.
Back when Patti Lupone and Elaine Paige did it, the structure was to generally dance a few steps, dance off to the side and let the ensemble take over. This is a production built for a full triple-threat.
