Really sad for the investor to pull at last minute, gutting for the cast and crew involved but it’s a good musical that deserves more life!

Was going to go in November too as I can’t make any repeat visits at TOP. This truly deserves a proper run. Wonder whether it really is investors and not just casting issues at such short notice. I hope it’s the latter.
There was a recent video of Laura and Rob recording Comic Book Kind of Love. Any hints of a proper cast album rather than Ben Adams substituting vocals?

I hate to be that guy, but just throwing it out there. Taking the producer out of the issue, surely this was somewhat inevitable sadly that either it would close early or play to half empty theatres. It's not a known show outside the theatre community, it hasn't sold that great this time around compared to the first time around, and also, you can't just announce a transfer for the same month, that's crazy! That said, I'm gutted that it has come down to this because it means more people won't get to see this and it would of been fun to see another new British musical in the West End, following hot on the heels of Jamie and Six. Hopefully next year!

Very sad. I hope it gets there next year. I won’t get to see it again now. :-(

How awful for everyone. Such a great show. Could Bil come to the rescue?

And I'm not sure they could strip the set back anymore, even with Bill K involved doing his utmost to make it look as cheap as possible 😉

That's devastating for the cast.

Interval. Why did no-one warn me to bring earplugs?
ETA Now finished. That was very loud, very camp & had even more lycra than Mamma Mia. Not entirely my cup of tea but some of it was amusing & I liked seeing those of the cast who I recognised from other shows.
I'm not entirely surprised the transfer was cancelled, given The Other Palace was only about two thirds full this afternoon.

That was good fun this evening. I'm glad my days plans got altered and I plumped for seeing this as I really enjoyed it. Lighthearted and simple.

Well. This is a whole bunch of jolly japes and further proof that Rob Houchen is possibly the best male singer in London's glitzy West End. 'nuff said. He has such an easy Gavin Creel-ness about him. Yes, he's that good.
It's all complete fluff but it's got a truly sensational cast, I think you'd struggle to find a weak one amongst 'em. Laura Baldwin (like a musical theatre Amy Adams) and Daniel Buckley (clearly a future star of 'School of Rock') are glorious, Buckley in particular has a devil-may-care-I'll-do-anything attitude which is very funny but there's also special mention for Simon Thomas, Scott Paige and Emily Tierney too. But the absolute scene stealer is Neil McDermott who was fabulous as Evil Lord Hector.
The show is such fun and the songs are cleverly made to sound like an 80s edition of 'Now That's What I Call Music', they're all pretty much insanely catchy and oddly familiar and for those who have a fetish for lycra, you will *die*.
I was sat next to the one from Busted who wasn't the strangely attractive tall posh one or the one who is married to Emma Willis. He seemed to enjoy it. He had an ice cream at the interval. I couldn't tell what flavour.
Oh and if you go to the St James Theatre (I refuse to call it it's stupid new name), be sure to visit the Gin Bar. I could hanker down and spend several weeks there. It's like many a dream I've had come true. Well the ones without Tom Bateman and Jonny B in anyway.

Little Rob is indeed a little star (s, shoot higher). Can someone give him a big juicy leading role in 2019 so I can go bask in it? Dan Buckley is adorable too, and I have a soft spot for his Musical BFF Scott as well. Overall everyone is fabulous and I want to keep them all being fabulous forever. It's a real once you're on board with the idea this one sucks you right in (much like the lads do in that lycra) it is one of the most joyous things I've seen all year, and I really hope it comes back . Oh and is it Charlie off of Busted? the one nobody ever remembers (bless)

I've just checked on the interweb and it was apparently James from Busted who was enjoying an ice cream during the interval last night. Not Charlie. Charlie is foxy. Neither of them are married to Emma Willis. That's the other one.

Except the one that's married to Emma Willis. And she likes a bit of rough.

Oh speaking of....I need a moment. This is what elevated my opinion of his uvula! He was an enjoyable enough Marius, but hearing him sing this was pretty heavenly.

If you get Jonny B's phone number get him to pass the Fleesh's to me. (The Fleesh obsession is real now and I am not ashamed) Also can you will little Robbie into an amazing production while you're at it.

Oh speaking of....I need a moment. I think he sounds better in that than in Eugenius. I want to say more vocally mature but that's not quite it. Umm... Maybe it's that in Eugenius he sounded like he was singing in head voice most of the time whereas here he shows more range, as he did in Candide last year.

I mean I wasn't making any direct comparisons, I just so happened to find that song on youtube shortly after we had discussed it on here.

Missed this previously and really want to see it.Could it be a tour or somewhere like the Arts or Arcola or has it got the legs for a more established WE Theatre?
