Seems like only yesterday we had Cherry Jones doing this brilliantly in the same theatre. Frankly I'd have preferred to see Amy Adams' take on Blanche, seems like a better fit - age and range-wise, but we can't complain. Let's hope this doesn't have horrific star seat pricing

I'm still upset we didn't get the one with Isabelle Huppert at the Barbican, I hope they'll reschedule it.
Also I don't love that they're having two actors playing Tom but you never know.

Never heard of Amy Adams. Is she much of a draw ? UK theatre's obsession with all things American continues. She is one of the biggest names the West End has had for a long time. Something like six Academy Award nominations, she was the lead in Disney's Enchanted (possibly the best casting decision they ever made), so this is a huge coup for West End theatre. It seems front stalls is £80, middle stalls is £150 and rear stalls £55 then £20 to £30 for restricted view in the Upper Circle. |

My knee-jerk reaction to this news was 'surely she's far too young!' but having read a bit more about Herrin's approach and seen the top-notch creatives involved, plus the inclusion of the brilliant Paul Hilton in the cast, it is actually quite exciting!

Prices seem to be:
Stalls £55-£150
Dress Circle £80-£150
Upper Circle £20 (Restricted view) - £55
Looks like no reductions for previews.

Mmmmmmmm they can ask whatever price they want, however it is nom good if you cannot sell tickets. These high prices are good, as it will put people off buying, so better chance for discounting.
My disappointment though is the pre-covid The Pillowman seems cancelled, which I was looking forward to.

I'm not convinced that the target market of people who'd book to see Amy Adams, is the same target market for The Glass Menagerie and those willing to pay £80 a ticket for it. As POL says, I don't think there's a particular rush needed to book for this one.

It's not selling fast at all, I guess because of how they announced it pretty nonchalantly and so close to open booking. I'm gonna hold off for now since it's not selling fast and the aisles and boxes aren't on sale as far as I can tell, plus the prices are pretty high. There's standing room so hopefully if there is a rush it's not just for that and there's actual seats available too.

I love Amy Adam’s and want to see more plays so have gone for this. £20 seat in the Gods for a 2 show day worth the Abba virtual concert!

I can’t get excited about this, not really keen on The Glass Menagerie as a play. It may just be too subtle for me but I remember reading in the programme about the real-life inspiration and thinking it sounded more interesting than what is presented on stage (same with Rattigan’s Deep Blue Sea)

It is a small theatre for a star like Amy Adams to be appearing in but I guess it means they can use dynamic pricing to its full effect.
