It does feel a bit like overkill and it’s curious they are opening in the same venue they had to cancel at the end of the last national tour (I understand the date was added beyond the cast contracts!).
There is something a bit strange about withholding the other venues.
But that being said, and in spite of all the well documented issues with this production, I love Heathers and will probably see it again.
I didn’t really enjoy it in a theatre the size of Wimbledon so hopefully it might play somewhere smaller in town like Richmond or the Rose in Kingston. Maybe even Windsor!
As ever, I look forward to seeing the casting news when it’s announced…

I enjoyed it 😲 The set looked ten times better than it did at the TRH, I thought both leads were better than Fletcher/Muscato and the cast overall were excellent. I’d still say that there are only three or four good songs in it but generally much more successful than my first experience of it. |

Can you elaborate? Do you think they will figure out venues as they go along? It is unusual, but not unheard-of, for a 'tour' to be announced this close to the starting venue. The fact that the first venue is managed by the producer just feels like Windsor might have had an empty week come up and that they will now plan a tour with other venues looking for filler slots. Otherwise, with it being so close, why not announce the full tour schedule in one go? I heard BKL had some problems retaining a tour scheduler and booker (whatever it's called), so it's kinda booked 'on the fly' at times. On the previous tour of Blood Brothers the gaps in the schedule were filled in as they were on tour, with them ending up at a modern college assembly hall at one point. |

It’s not exciting - only thing is that people may squeeze in Mean Girls and Heathers in; so good for the economy I suppose. I can’t picture it at Soho Place. Is this the best they can do? Really? |

It's only a month run which suggests that it's filling a gap before going back on tour.
I would imagine @sohoplace will be able to reconfigure itself for Heathers.

Fine by me. Always intrigued to see different performers take on these roles and @sohoplace needs something that will sell after a year or so or papered productions.

Heathers will probably sell better than most of the shows that are programmed there. It’s sad, and it’s definitely overstayed its welcome, but if it’s helping a fantastic venue keep up its financial health before another, and hopefully more novel, show goes in, what’s there to complain about.

Very intrigued to see how @sohoplace can showcase its flexibility after all its in the round shows. I mean, it won't be too exciting, I'm sure, but will be nice to see, even with that hideous Heathers set.

I mean, it won't be too exciting, I'm sure, but will be nice to see at last, even with that hideous Heathers set. I think it'll be in thrust configuration for Heathers similar to the Donmar's layout. I've seen pictures of how the theatre would look in various configurations so thrust should work but the capacity will lowered. |
