While I disagree with Osnes on her views on vaccines and undoubtedly many of her conservative views, I could still see her in a show.
I don't go to the theatre and question if every cast member's personal beliefs align with my own.
Her behaviour is irresponsible, but if she was in a show I was seeing, I'd still see it.

My issue here is that live theatre is only able to happen thanks to the successful vaccination rollout. Vaccinations are allowing us to control something which was previously only achieved by lockdowns/social distancing. And that was an impossible situation for theatres.
This is a collective effort, so why should Laura Osnes reap the benefits and headline these projects when she selfishly won't do her part? I will not support her career and projects she's involved in while she continues to spread this disinformation.

Theatre has suffered more than most industries and it is only back due to the vaccines. This is a collective effort and everyone must do their part, including Osnes. Like everyone she has a right to be anti-vax. But the result of that is that certain doors will be closed to her. This isn't about cancel culture. It's about safety and the "right thing" at population, not individual level.

If Sierra Boggess is doing it, I may have to rethink. As much as I love Jeremy, Sierra's voice is like nails on a chalkboard for me.

She still has a choice, and no one is forcing her to take a vaccine. But like everyone in all walks of life, she has to accept the consequences of refusing it. That said, theatres in the UK haven't made vaccines mandatory, so it's the producer's decision what they do in relation to negative publicity.

At the end of the day, I guess she can just go back to her hallmark movies if this whole thing ends up damaging her career.. She could do a couple of those a year and never need to work on stage again, in fairness...

I've messaged Fourth Wall to ask what's going on re Laura - appreciate they have to be neutral though. Wonder if I will receive a response...

It does seem like a massive double standard from the all loving, inclusive theatre community. Accepting all doesn’t seem to extend to an anti-vax right wing zealot. The anti-vax bit seems to have given people the ‘permission’ they are seeking to attack. Medically it is selfish and troubling but morally she is allowed a stance. Agree! But If there’s anything I’ve learnt from the last 2 years is that the theatre community / theatre twitter is anything but all inclusive and loving! - there’s just so much bitterness and anger, and an unwillingness to accept anyone or anyone’s opinion that doesn’t conform exactly with their own. The reaction to Laura’s vaccination status is a good example. I don’t agree with Laura’s position at all when the science says that the vaccine is safe, but she’s allowed to have her own opinion with the knowledge that she obviously will lose out professionally as a result, especially in NYC with the vaccination requirements. However, up until this point she’s been doing concerts or movies where she’s complied with all the covid safety protocols required of her, so I don’t see the issue. It’s not like she’s been flaunting the rules or laws. As for the B&C concert, here there isn’t a requirement for cast and crew to be vaccinated, but the biggest issue is I guess that as of now Laura would need to quarantine for 10 days (because she isn’t vaccinated). Maybe she was assuming that by next year covid would be less of a problem and the rules relaxed, idk.

^ It is why I don't engage on Twitter anymore. I have an account still but I use it to message customer service departments. It's toxic.

This is not about her beliefs though, it's about her actions. And those actions affect other people: their health, their family's health, their jobs and their livelihood. Her actions are linked to her beliefs in this case. I totally accept that the actions are a problem. Witch hunts are becoming more and more common in this community and I just find it troubling. Yeah it’s the witch-hunt aspect to it that I have found sad. The absolute glee people are having in ‘cancelling’ her is definitely disturbing to me. And of course politics comes into it. There wouldn’t be the same reaction if Laura was an anti vaxer and an outspoken liberal. Believe it or not, it’s not just conservatives who aren’t getting vaccinated.

If her appearance actually survives in this concert- I feel tempted to Book just purely so I can boo her. She should be ashamed of herself. For being an anti vaxxer, and also for publicly supporting Trump.

The concert is not for another 5 months. The whole vaccine requirements might have changed by then or she might have chosen to take it. We could be in the midst of another country lockdown, or everyone who had the vaccine could be 'activated' and we might be dead or just walking zombies between the 5G masts

This is a public health crisis that has taken over 4 million lives globally. It's EVERYONE'S business. And it isn't "unnecessary drama" for folks to want to feel safe in their workplace. If Laura is tested before entering the theatre and produces a negative result, she is not a threat to anyone. Let’s apply some common sense. "Let's apply some common sense" and get the vaccine and stop tolerating disinformation from anti-vaxxers like Osnes. "Let's apply some common sense" and realize there are other women up to the job who care about public health, and our industry, enough to do the right thing. "Let's apply some common sense" and stop letting these fools get away with their behavior. Hold them accountable. Mandates work.

If you sincerely think that living "in a democracy" gives you the right to contribute to the spread of a potentially deadly virus, you should probably spend less time on a theatre chat board and more time examining your selfishness and foolishness.

That virus is called flu and kills tens of thousands annually in the UK alone. Yes, just under 30,000 die annually of the flu in the UK. Compared to 137,000 who have died of COVID. So far.
