Great news. I adored this at the Menier, it's such a feel-good delightful show with some cracking tunes. I'm sure the Crucible will do it proud. I assume this will be following A Chorus Line which I've already booked. I first saw She Loves Me with John Gordon Sinclair in London about 30 years ago. The Evening Standard or News offered tickets for this and also A Slice of Saturday Night @ £1. Queued ages but got both. Loved both shows ever since.

Don't hate but I was bored witless during the MCF production. On a famous video sharing website you can find the British TV version, which I also found really dull #deadinside

It is a joyous musical with the right cast and production. Perfect Christmas choice.
Needs real heart to bring the characters to life.

Although Paul is obviously a much better name, it's actually Robert Hastie. Proves how little What's on Stage actually knows about theatre these days? 😉 Having only just left, looks like our david will be paying another visit to the world-famous Crucible Theatre later this year. 🙂

I loved it at the Menier, it was such a lovely musical with great songs. I knew of the musical but had never seen it before. The cast also included Callum Howels who went on to be one of the stand actors in Its A Sin. I also always thought the title song was actually a pop song and didn't realise it'll was from the musical.

Sorry for my error re Chorus Line. Can't do quotes on this ancient and not at all smart phone but thanks Steve. (from a very wet M4 on a coach to Cardiff, listening to stage musical CDs on a Discman)

I love "She Loves Me" too, BurlyBeaR it's about two people who write letters anonymously to each other and by coincidence end up working together and hate each other...

Rebecca Lock isn’t right at all.
No one will ever touch Ruthie in this role. My god she was glorious.

It’s a discussion forum. If we all googled everything this site wouldn’t exist.

I also love this show - looks like I’ll have to take a trip up North to see it! I also saw the Savoy production with John Gordon Sinclair and Ruthie Henshall and have been entranced by She Loves Me ever since. There was a cracking production at Chichester a few years ago as well as the wonderful MCF production. Can’t wait to find out who’s cast in the Sheffield production.

Ive definitely commented about the casting and marketing of Cinders before previews. Since previews I have kept it buttoned because i haven't actually seen it. I think that’s the adult thing to do.
