Does anyone know what is coming into the National for August onwards. Trying to sort out my trip and don’t want to miss out if something good due there. Anyone in the know? Thanks

Anyone's guess.
Nothing has been announced so far, apart from the current 2 shows.
It is unclear whether the National are going to honour the cancelled announced shows from 2020. Or just scrape than and and announce a new artistic program.
Last year they did say they're going to do a social distanced The Normal Heart, which seriously I want to see, more than anything else. This is also unclear if this is going to happen.

I should imagine they’re waiting to see what happens regarding 21 June. It’s almost like they don’t trust that Boris will have everything under control within the next fortnight… 🤔

Productions there have a lead time of months, a decision on summer productions would have been taken ages ago. |

Donmar is also having a refusbishment, which was planned long before the Pandemic.

What is going on at the RSC? I'm not a regular there, but to an outsider it looks like they aren't in any hurry to re-open their main theatres, and I watched a second-rate animation online a few weeks ago which they heralded as "the future of theatre' or some such nonsense. Very disappointing, unless I'm missing something. |

Just can't find the name! STANDING AT THE SKY'S EDGE.Music and lyrics by Richard Hawley based on his 2012 album of the same name. Orginally staged at Sheffield Crucible March 2019.Was due to be revived at the Crucible in Nov 2020 and then transfer to NT in Jan 2021.And then you know what happened. YES! Thank you. 👏 ^^^ ⭐️ |

They seem to think audiences will be keen to return for their commercial stuff (Matilda, Wolf Hall, Xmas musical) but not for Shakespeare apparently - one outdoor production only until 2022. |

Paradise dates not showing on the NT website yet, but looks like a potentially good show.
Re the RSC, I imagine they are more heavily reliant on coach parties, school trips and tourists than many other theatres, and they don't have the option of sticking to plays with small casts when their core product is Shakespeare, but I bet the Stratford tourism and hospitality industry is unhappy with the permanent theatres remaining closed. It all feels a bit directionless.
