God those “headshot” people sound so entitled right now 🙄 comparing it to not paying a plumber to do his job! You’re literally being asked to SIT THERE! This would be a great afternoon for theatre fans to see a bit of the show for free and I’m really not on board with a select few sh*tting on it.

But a couple calling it ‘insulting’
Blimey when did ‘free’ insult people? At no point did the OP ask for professional actors?

I wish I could go to this and support it. Shows like dancing on ice often get an audience in just for the guest performance so they can edit it in later. The only tv audiences I’ve seen where there is payment offered are foreign versions shot in the UK or other arrangements where encouragement is needed. If it is just 30 people to be filmed around why is payment needed?

I've been to loads of TV shows over the years and the cameras have panned across the audience. So should I have been paid? It's totally ridiculous. What is it with some people these days. Have to see bad in everything. I'd happily do it and what a great opportunity to be part if it. |

I mean I suppose you could ask for two hours worth of payment, but asking to "support" actors by paying a day rate? Whatever for? Supporting artists on film/tv have the earliest start times, have to be costumed and have a job acting/reacting, unlike this.

I kind of agree though. If they were filming the whole show, then fair enough, but they want unpaid extras for an advert.

I would happily do unpaid extra work even without the snacks, just to experience this!
I don’t see in the tweet anywhere about wanting professional actors, and I don’t see a problem with the offer.

Why would you need to be paid? You're not doing any skill? You're not acting, youre watching performances and getting a nice afternoon with a drink. You'd think people in the industry would understand that? No doubt theyre the ones that preach "Support Theatre!" But wont see a thing unless they get a comp or cast rate discount.
What I am happy to see is that they guy isnt disheartened and has said hes going to try and increase the capacity and have two sittings so more people can have a unique opportunity to do this. Who wouldnt love to get to watch any shows EPK filmings?! It's a unique fun afternoon and I think its a great thing to offer.

The crunch comes when being one of the chosen 30 is dependant in what you are able to commit to wearing. Because they won’t want people showing up in jeans and t shirts. So are you now providing your own costume?

Lots of people got refunds when Glen Close was off during the Sunset run at the Coliseum. Tbh it is tricky as what if you get to the theatre and have spent money on train fares? Do you want a refund and stop the whole evening or just suck it up?

As has been commented it’d seem odd to bother filming it with Eddie and Jessie given they don’t have long left. If it’s the new leads, and there’s a public audience attending, then hopefully the names will be leaked (or officially announced) very soon… |

I don't think it's weird to film a trailer with the original cast, since it has been very clear when Eddie's and Jessie's final performances are. Especially since they seem to be going down the 'frequent cast changes' route, they can't film a trailer every time the leads change, so the best options is to go with the (soon to be Olivier awarded) originals. I also assume that the EPK is going to be centred around the whole show and the 'Kit Kat experience', rather than Eddie-Jessie-centric.

Erin Doherty can sing, has played the lead in a musical (Jack Thorne's Junkyard), loves live performance and doesn't seem to be filming anything at the moment...?

She was terrific in Jack Thorne's Junkyard (worth a slightly tortuous trip to Kingston). Have enjoyed watching her star rise since then.
