Oh for God's sake, it's a cast board, how could they object to a photo of that? Ridiculous.

First visit I took a photo of the cast board. Second time I was told off for doing so. I think they should put the cast board outside to solve the issue.

Noticed the cast board as I was leaving and took a picture of it with the ushers standing right there. They didn’t say anything last night, but maybe that was because we were the first out the doors!

Oh for God's sake, it's a cast board, how could they object to a photo of that? Ridiculous. I suspect it's a 'slippery slope' issue... if they allow a photo of the cast board, that same person could quickly turn and take a photo of something else. (I've no idea if there's anything else nearby that would be worth photographing!) Or they don't want to have to explain "it's ok to take a photo of the cast board, but you can't take a photo of the performers" or deal with "they took a picture, why can't I?"

I get that, because it's right where the pre-show performance is and also the whole setting of it. Maybe they could solve this and put it where you walk in instead, people could take a photo before putting their phones away, and also it would be in a clear position, I completely missed it when I went as the performer was blocking it with her accordion!

I really don't understand their continued banning of photography inside now. They are posting pictures of the stage and inside of the theatre on social media and the latest trailer shows the walk into the theatre so there really is nothing that is 'secret' anymore.

I think it's less about keeping the immersive experience secret, but just that the concept acts as deterrent from taking photos of anything on stage during performance. People buy into preserving the experience. They've released photos of a lot of costuming and stuff, but I'd say it's still all pretty out of context.

I don't mind the ban, not for the secrecy, but because everybody would be standing around taking photos of themselves, each other, the performers, the decor, becoming more engrossed in recording the experience than experiencing it.

When you go to any show you are asked not to record or take pictures during the performance. As the "performance" starts the minute you enter the kit kat club and carries on through the interval it makes perfect sense not to allow photos. Otherwise you would be recording the performance.

Oh that is really, really desperate... They could put the board outside of the "performance space"? Or could it just possibly be that they really don't want to draw attention to changes in cast from the programme, hence no announcements, slips in programmes - oh and the fact the board wasn't even there when I went either before the show or during the interval. It magically reappeared after the show though, hidden behind that little champagne bar. Coincidentally, one of the stars were off. Weird.

Some people seem determined to turn this thread into Groundhog Day...
The cast board was there when I saw the show. People were taking photos of it with a staff member right beside it and she was not stopping them. There is no grand conspiracy here, no matter how obsessed some seem to be with finding one.

My comment was more to do with photography in general at the venue rather than "castboardgate". To be honest when I went I didn't even look for it so can't comment. Also as it was only the 2nd preview I presumed it would be the advertised cast.

Finally heading out to the Kit Kat Club tomorrow night with my own solo table in row N. Can’t wait!! On my email, it says that my entry time is 18:15, does this mean I have to get there this early? I’m normally someone who likes to arrive 15-20mins before the curtain goes up so this is very early for me… thanks in advance for help

Does anyone know where the lottery seats are? Are they set seats or what's leftover?

I suspect that the restrictions on photography and filming also possibly come from the actor's contracts. I think any permission for general photography might annoy equity.

I think if the producers decide to bring the show out into areas of the theatre which are generally understood to be for the use of the audience, then any issues about an actor being caught on camera need to be put to one side. Not that I think for a moment that’s what the problem is here. They have been exercising, or trying to exercise unreasonable levels of control over the audience since day 1.

I know the feeling is that the approach to photos is a bit heavy-handed generally, but I wonder if it's part of an attempt to stop 'bad behaviour' generally - of the sort that is commented on so frequently on this forum that there's a thread currently running to over 370 pages about it? Possibly the thought is that if you crack down on stuff from the moment people enter the building, then, by the time the show actually starts, people will have become used to not having their phones in active use, and may even have actually turned them off?

And then the audience member goes to the Cher Show and has the lead screaming “”GET YOUR PHONES OUT BITCHES!” for the finale, so it’s all getting a bit confusing.
You can bet your life the Cabaret producers had a meeting where “no phones allowed” was discussed i.e the locking bags that they’re using for Punchdrunk. And then someone will have quite rightly said that what with covid tests being checked and the need to move people around the space inside the theatre that would be too much of a hassle. Then some bright spark came up with the phone sticker idea. Just focus on what is important. No recording or photos inside the auditorium while the performance is underway. Enforce it properly and don’t deviate from it. And stop trying to impose stupid additional and totally unnecessary restrictions on people, far too many of whom will just comply like sheep. It’s a bloody liberty.

I went to see this for the second time a couple of days ago and the process of getting into the theatre was painful. Just one long, single file queue to get absolutely everyone into the building. First covid check, then ticket check, then bag check, then phone sticker, then a drink at the bar. But because you're in a backstage area with tight corridors and lots of corners, you can't tell that you're all just in a queue for the bar. I didn't want anything and yet I was still made to stand in this queue for at least 15 minutes in total?? It didn't feel 'immersive', it felt annoying. It wasn't like this the first time I went (they were using at least two entrances).

Is this still selling well? I thought it would drop off when the original leads left .
I am tempted to go back though as Amy Lennox was terrific on the Oliviers, and Fra has to be an improvement on Forced Vibrato, I mean Eddie R.
