Joe did not strip down to swimming trunks in the original production. This was only done in the Coliseum production. We will see if it happens in this incarnation.....
It was also done on the 2nd US Tour with La Clark.

Has there been any news on who's taking over from Danny Mac when he's done? I probably won't be able to catch the tour until 2018, at which point I believe he'll no longer be in it.

Ignore the people, but they're stood on a staircase

I've got a friend who works at Curve, who's seen the model boxes for the set!
She says it's very Curve, open to create the look of a sound state, with set pieces coming on and out to create specific scenes, so staircase and bits for the house, offices and what not. The plan was for a partial car, with steering wheel seat and headlights I believe!
Whether or not that's still the case, I guess we'll find out ☺️

They'll probably chuck an old curtain over it or something

They have an impossibly young cast for this tour!

There's nothing wrong with being 25, as long as you're not playing 50.

I'm still looking forward to this, but was definitely hoping for a lot more of a set and not just the usual "curve sort of design"

Not sure what "curve sort of design" means..but they've got a behind the scenes video on their FB page and it vividly shows the concepts and miniatures of the mansion set and there's a giant staircase. It looks like a sizable production.

Yes the set box and digital concept art can be seen on a new bts video and to me it looks really really good.
I don't know what a curve design is either. It might have been a term once because basically every curve set was basic and hardly there but that's not the case now. You can't say that the set wasn't impressive for Oliver! And it was very good and quite expansive for Grease too. Legally Blonde was quite a bare box because that was literally the concept.

....there was nothing minimal or bare about the Finding Neverland set.

....there was nothing minimal or bare about the Finding Neverland set. Yes but to be fair that wasn't produced by them.

The set for Grease was some giant doors at the back, with a dj booth at the back up above, with flying gymnasium ladders and moving stairs! I would call it large, open but bare, in my opinion 😕

It's true there wasn't a load of scene changes or anything but I still think it was well designed and looked pretty detailed. It's the same designer doing this btw.

I will be at the dress rehearsal this afternoon so i'll report back How did you acquire such a privilege? I believe it's Curve tradition to do a Public Dress Rehearsal (or PDR), and you pay £1 (or at least you do with Sunset, according to Curve's twitter!)

Firstly the orchestra is amazing. Secondly projections are used ALOT. All over the walls and various panels with old film clips or effects during scenes. Its normally very effective. Things like old movie clips and Norma's face ect. Twinkling lights, roads to depict driving scenes and such. Think Ghost or Curious incident. Danny Mac is fine.
Second act about to begin.
