Are they still miming the Doctor's rock singing? It looked kinda weird at the Donmar. Is he miming? Saw both at the Donmar and Wyndham's and that didn't cross my mind.

Since Trevor never missed a show at the Donmar, I've been very curious to see how someone else might play the role. Have you seen the show before with Trevor playing the doctors? And if so, what did you make of Ben's portrayal in comparison? He’s on again at this evening’s show. Interval now and the show is absolutely fantastic.

Look out for it next time.

It seemed that way last night too! I don’t recall how it was done at the Donmar. Now that knew to look for it, though, I think Ben was miming.

The sound designer just posted on twitter that it's not mimed. And for what it's worth, on one of my visits to the Wyndham's, they had some sound issues with the echo effect they put on Trevor during the rock moment and it was bleeding through to the talking bits in between. If it was a recording, you wouldn't think that effect would be needed.

The way Trevor places some of his vowels whilst singing can look la little strange with the shapes his mouth makes…. I guess but I’m so confused how it could have been seen as miming in any way. It also doesn’t sound that great at times either! Glad the sound department could clear that up!

I mean, you could say that the Dr Rock moment is a sound effect... having seen it up close at the Donmar, I would say it was mimed, either that or Trevor can belt rock music with ease. It was too clean and always exactly the same. But as someone else mentioned, he does have an odd style of singing certain vowels.

It's definitely live. Regarding vowel placement and mouth shapes, Trevor has always struck me as having a rather interesting - almost athletic - articulation. I think he's a very exciting performer to watch.

How different we are. I agree with everybody about the singing and music, but ..... I was bored to tears with the storyline, I'm afraid. I disliked every character, and have never been so tempted to leave at the interval. I only stayed because of the quality of the voices. I've given it 3* purely on the merit of the performances. Oh well, we can't all like the same things. Similiar. I just found the whole thing stylistically very irritating. I wanted to love it.

I thought I was the only one noticing the shape his mouth makes when he sings -- it really is quite distracting because you can't un-see it!

Anyone know what seats you get on Today Tix rush for this show?
Also would like to know if they tend to be limited/go very fast.

I got a decent seat in the royal circle when I got a rush ticket. Can't speak for how quickly they go as I was there dead on 10am for a midweek performance

Just saw this tonight. Stalls, row E. The stage is high but I was quite comfortable where I was. However, I would probably suggest sitting in a few rows back.
Amazing performances and vocals from all. Loved Gabe and Natalie the most, followed by Diana. Jamie was great, especially in act 2.

Saw this Thursday afternoon and really enjoyed it. I went in knowing nothing really. The cast were amazing, so much emotion.
I ended up with a seat upgrade from the very back row of the grand circle to row B which was good for me because the very back didn't look very easy to see from.

I’ve seen it twice at the Donmar and once at the Wyndham’s now, it’s grown on me, the cast are so good, but I couldn’t give it 5 stars.
At some point in the second act, it starts feeling like the songs are driving the characters.

Standby performance at tomorrow's matinee, including Lizzy Parker's debut as Natalie.

That's a good point. Seems odd the cast are referring to it as "our standby performance at tomorrow's matinee" but without tickets on sale, who are they performing to?!

I know it’s a long shot because of it being an invited audience but did anybody see the cover run today? How was it?

I have to say it was absolutely brilliant. Debut performances for all of the covers, with the roles of the Doctors and Henry played by the respective leads.
Given that it was literally their first go, I wasn’t expecting the performances to be as established and nuanced as the leads who have a lot of shows under their belts, however I think they all did really well. Each of them made the performance their own, with their own unique aspects. Carolyn Maitland and Lizzy Parker were the strongest for me out of the four of them, however they were all solid and I’m really glad I was able to see the cover run as they may not all get public performances.
