Made an account to discuss any changes people may want to know about! You'd be correct about A Light in the Dark - the staging used to be (at the end) Dan and Diana sitting on the last set of steps in front of the cupboards stage left Welcome aboard! Thanks for that - that sparked a memory. Think this staging works better (and I say that having sat front row stalls on that side in the Donmar). I agree. I was almost a little nervous when I saw it wasn't thrust staging anymore, but as others have said the only thing we've really lost is that intimate feeling the Donmar had. I noticed particularly in Diana and Dan's characterisation that in places it was dialled up a bit, I wonder if it's got something to do with the venue change? I really enjoyed it again though, I love the show to pieces even if it ruins me every time. {Spoiler - click to view} I also want to say in particular a moment I was thinking about with the space change was when she goes through the baby stuff box. The way Caissie holds that stage and has the whole audience watching in silence (save for sniffles!) with what feels like held breath is so powerful to me, and was just as effective up seeing it from up in the Grand Circle vs the Donmar. She's brilliant.

Ticket for sale on noticeboard.
Unfortunately I’m not able to make it to London to see it now.

Quite a few mishaps tonight (I love previews!), the main one probably being pills scattered all over the floor during “Who’s Crazy…”. They had to stop the show to sweep the floor. That also allowed them to collect the microphone which had fallen down from the second floor a few scenes before.
I don’t know why, but I just love when I witness these things. Just a reminder about how thrilling live theatre is.

Oh, and Tom Kitt was watching the show from the upper circle.

Add me to the list of people who saw this on Saturday evening. I think this is a beautiful show. The sound quality was perfect too. I can't say this is one I could watch on repeat, but I'll definitely be seeing this again during this limited run. I was in Row B (with a very well priced ticket through the new TodayTix personalised offers). The stage is high, but I could see everything apart from parts of the floor. I wouldn't recommend Row A or B for a first viewing for anyone under about 5'8", but if you know the show, these are perfect seats to pick up on the emotion. It was also nice to be able to see the top level, which I missed at the previous venue as I was sat at the extreme side. At least this time I largely managed to have too many objects landing on me (but there was a narrow miss with a pen or similar zooming past the side of the head - landing a row or two behind). This is a really strong cast, all excellent vocally. Recommended. I saw the show twice at the Donmar and multiple times on Broadway and always preferred to be closer. Any recommendation for seating at this new theater? I want to be close but want a full view. Thanks!!

Close up is excellent as you can really see {Spoiler - click to view} their facial expressions, etc. Grand Circle was surprisingly great as well as you get to see the floor projections, the blood effect, etc. I actually liked them both equally. It's powerful up close, especially the finale. But a lot of details and staging are viewed better from above. I genuinely don't know if I could pick.

I initially avoided this as I feared the subject matter could be triggering to me.
Thankfully I did see it a few days ago. Stellar in all aspects. Strong acting all around, a wonderfully cohesive piece plot-wise and smart, punchy direction.
This is musical theatre at its best.
No notes, will see again.

As someone who has sat very close to the front of this show in many incarnations including the booth on Broadway - the stage at Wyndham’s is surprisingly high. I would recommend at least a few rows back or slightly more as echod earlier. That said, I will continue to sit close because of the price and you get a full view of everyone’s faces etc. which is thrilling up close.

I think we worked out that you don't want to be any further forward than row G in the stalls due to the high stage

It's a great view, you just cannot see the floor of the stage any further forward than approx row G and that's pretty key for one moment (but you'll understand what's happened about 30 seconds later anyway)

I think {Spoiler - click to view} this would be during "There's A world" and Dan's solo song, right? I am familiar enough with the show, but a relief to know I'll be safe! Thank you both!

Are there any offers on this? I'm seeing Hello Dolly on July 6th PM, I was going to catch Sky's Edge matinee but think I'd much rather see this...

Has anyone heard if there are plans for a west end cast recording?

Saw this tonight and was really impressed! It's never been a show I've been terribly fond of, but my friend who loved the show on broadway wanted to see it whilst she's visiting from the US. I'm now quite sorry to have missed this at the Donmar as I would have loved to have seen this in a more intimate space. Jack Wolfe is such a star — having seen him as Moritz earlier in the month this was quite the contrasting character!
Edit to add: My friend said that she far preferred this production to Broadway!

That was WILD. Without a doubt my favourite thing I’ve ever seen and I can’t believe it but even better than the Donmar. I didn’t think it was possible but all the cast have upped their vocal game, it was just perfect in every way. Loved some new little moments especially one with Dan near the end. They were robbed at the Oliviers. Hope they’re not robbed of the 5*s they deserve

Hi all - I'm seeing this from the front row. Will i regret being so close/low or do the positives outweigh any negatives? Thanks for any feedback on this particular row.

This is getting great reviews but truly do not understand how so many are giving it 4 instead 5 considering some other musicals that got 5 stars over the past few years.

It's crazy to me how many of these reviews give away the twist, and even crazier how many of them either try to justify it by saying that it's too difficult to discuss the musical without revealing it or just drop it without a warning. It just strikes me as such lazy writing.
