Interested, but they don't seem keen to cater for people who attend on their own. Will have another look nearer the time and see if any better seat options have been made available.

Definitely unfriendly for solo theatregoers but managed to find a single seat in the middle of the royal circle which was appealing and have booked for all three. Can't wait  |

Singletons definitely not the most welcome.
Booked for 2 as I had credit and paid more than I wanted for some single middle stalls aisles.
The less said about the credit process the better, need reference codes, redemption codes and calculus to determine how to use various refunds to make up the total. Tempted to cash in my remaining credits as finding all the info took an age whilst the countdown timer whizzed by.

Having just booked for Walden, I have to say as others have noted, there really wasn't much choice for us solo theatre goers on the only date I could go. I had the same issue as you NeilVHughes in trying to redeem my ATG voucher as well as using my credit card to pay for a Row N stalls seat. After 2 attempts, the ticket was bought in time just before the clock ended. It's just really frustrating that there is stuff I would like to book for in general and support both the shows and theatres, but there doesn't seem to be much decent choice for single folk. It's either RV or at a price that I wouldn't pay even in normal circumstances. I just wish more thought about solo patrons is given when sorting out SD seating. |

It’s not really a social distancing thing, ATG have always disliked people booking single seats and at various venues have imposed rules to prevent single bookings or other bookings that would leave a single seat empty. This is just them continuing this practice, Covid might as well have not happened. They are a disgrace. I’d guess that single seats will be eventually bookable in some way via TodayTix as is normally the case at this theatre.

Knew J’Ouvert was being filmed for broadcast on BBC but apparently all three productions are set to be filmed for broadcast with filming details to be announced in due course for Walden and Anna X.

Saw J’Ouvert tonight at the Harold Pinter. Hadn't realised it had been on TV until I saw this thread.
Got a good Stalls end of row ticket thanks to a TodayTix deal.
It's really a review of two parts. An interesting concept and well-performed play, marred by a party style audience.
This isn't one to sit right at the front of the Stalls for, unless you like audience interaction. But, if you're sat towards the back, it seems it's clearly perfectly fine to join in, shout out, encourage the characters to do certain things that aren't scripted etc. It wasn't just one group of people doing this, either.
Apart from that, lots of talking, people keen to hum/sing along with the music and who seemed less keen with the dramatic parts. They were wanting Notting Hill Carnival! A much more diverse audience than you usually see in the West End, which was good to see.
I thought that the four female actors did really well, covering a variety of characters between them and showcasing the tensions in West London. Some very witty lines too.
Worth seeing, especially if you get lucky with the rest of the audience being able to control themselves. The play takes a bit of time to get going, but the second half works really well. It wasn't sold out tonight, so there are still tickets available.

I really enjoyed J’Ouvert too. I found it really empowering and inspiring too. I loved the fact that the audience demographic was so different to what we were used to in the west end which is great.
I don’t suppose with Anna X being the final play a programme with info on all 3 plays would be available (a la Welsh National Opera) this time around? It would be a shame not to have a physical memory/souvenir from what has been a pretty unique season that I’ve certainly enjoyed.

We saw ANNA X on Saturday evening. The next morning I was surprised to find out that it was the first performance. About 80 minutes and a lot of fun. The cast are good, although Nabhaan Rizwan does a better job with various accents. The stage is impressive, a lit/projected backdrop that changes constantly, allowing for new scenes and revisiting of old scenes. Felt very slick.
We missed J'Ouvert due to a pesky self-isolation ping but with Walden and ANNA X, we both felt this was a really good re-opener.

I was at Anna X last night and was somewhat less impressed than Dave - Rizwan is definitely the better of the pair but I struggled to care about much of it.
Still, my first time in a West End house since Feb 2020 and was thrilled to be back, regardless.

I saw Anna X last night and thought it was better than Walden thought both Emma Corrin and Nabhaan Rizwan were good. However, although it is inspired by the real life case of Anna Sorokin, it's difficult to really care. Anna X is rather a cold character its hard to really care about, whereas Rizwan as Ariel has charm but he is also hard to like. Going into to the theatre was interesting, I was all ready to show my NHS COVID Pass as I thought they might want to see it but no one did, plenty of people going in ignored the Test and Trace check in and in the stalls many people near me weren't wearing face masks.

I watched it recently and thoroughly enjoyed it. The staging and lighting created the atmosphere very well, I also liked Nabhaan more but Emma was also good. It was packed with one seat left between groups. I was surprised that we still had to wear masks. All in all, definitely great to be back!

Seeing Anna X this weekend. I’ve been seeing that ATG will be introducing covid certification to venues and was wondering will we need to bring proof of a negative test to Anna X and what will this proof entail?
Also found out that I booked for a captioned performance and wanted to ask does anyone know where the captions take place and if they distract from the action at all? Many thanks

Here's the info from the ATG website about what they expect: Upon arrival, all members of your party over the age of 18 must demonstrate their COVID-19 status in ONE of the following ways: Full vaccination (first and second dose), and with the second dose administered at least 14 days before your visit, demonstrated via your NHS COVID Pass on the NHS App, via your downloaded status from the NHS website or GP letter; OR A negative lateral flow test taken within 48 hours of your visit, demonstrated via your NHS COVID Pass on the NHS App or via an NHS text/email; OR Proof of natural immunity (positive PCR test within the last six months, after self-isolation has ended and up to 180 days after taking the test). Many thanks The captions are usually in the boxes (dress circle level) so there shouldn't be any distractions. The Anna X run is still socially distanced in bubbles so there is no Covid certification required, just the usual temperature checks, mask wearing etc. |

Not sure if it's part of a tour, or just a one off, but Anna X is at The Lowry from 11 to 14 August.
Tickets from just £15...though being The Lowry, it will be nigh on impossible to book!

Well, that was an eventful evening spent watching tonight’s performance of ANNA X at the Lowry. With the Manchester trams not running this weekend, I got a free magical mystery tour of Manchester City centre and Salford Quays courtesy of the Rail replacement bus service up to and from Media city and for a Saturday night at the Lowry theatre, it was the most quiet I’ve ever seen it. Normally a place full of people chatting and making use of the bars and shops, there was definitely a distinct lack of any kind of atmosphere in the foyer tonight. Anyway, those £15 front row seats kindly noted by TallPaul were a bargain and I certainly enjoyed watching the play. That big video screen certainly was used to great effect to set the different scenes with the absence of any kind of sets. Despite not knowing too much of the story that the play is based on, it was definitely a very engaging piece of drama with plenty of humour chucked in for good measure delivered by Corrin and Rizwan and well received by the audience I was sat with. Having watched this as well as WALDEN at the Pinter theatre, definitely 2 interesting productions from SFP as a reopener season offering. |

Walden is getting a cinema release in September, strange that is getting a cinema release but Anna X is still TBA. the middle play J'Ouvert was already filmed for BBC Four.
