LinkVery excited for this, hopefully we will be able to view it in the UK. I hope Tony Hale is appearing in character as Buster from Arrested Development, he and Liza were great together in that show.

I've seen Liza twice live . Once at the Albert Hall and once in Birmingham. She is a true icon and a great star.

I'm not a groupie or mega fan but I have seen every Liza concert in London (apart from 1) since 1977. Absolute legend and not many left from that generation. OK her last couple of concerts were a bit painful to watch to a degree but you let that go by considering what's she has been through. Most amazing one was at the RAH sometime in the 90s, cant remember the year now. It was when she was doing her "Stepping Out" tour. She had several concerts booked which all sold out immediately and I couldn't get a ticket. So each day I phoned for returns and then one morning I phoned the box office to be told that she had hired the RAH at her own expense to do a midnight concert for anyone who worked in the theatre industry and the tickets were free. So got 2 tickets, 3rd row of the arena. Bear in mind she had already done one show that evening and this was an extra midnight one. I cant tell you how incredible it was. Such a buzz as full of actors who had just come off stage themselves so the atmosphere was amazing. She came on at midnight and came off the stage at 3.20am Don't think I have ever experienced anything like it since.

Wow, alece10 - that sounds like an incredible evening! When I first got into Liza, although I adored her music and performances, being a cynical teenager I thought her regular sentimental statements were a bit fake and just attributed them to her being an old-fashioned showbiz stalwart. As I saw and learned more about her, it became evident that she is 100% genuine in her love for the audience, for performing, and for many of the people she's worked with or been inspired by. Your description of her putting on an impromptu late-night 2nd concert for industry workers makes me so happy - it's a real testament to that kind of love she has.

You know in hindsight this is gonna sound incredibly disrespectful but several years ago Liza performed at one of the Hampstead Heath summer festivals and I went and saw her.
I wouldn't even call myself a fan; not really. That said, I respect her for the longevity of her career and again (awful I know) but I thought here is Broadway legend who is so old she could be dead tomorrow!
And she was amazing! She really was!
For a theatre fan, who had only about 5 years earlier had moved to the country, with this legend performing just up the road from me; this was an opportunity too good to miss.
I even remember two things about the concert. As she carries the name Minnelli, she's the only one left.
She also explained that she'd had two hip replacements, joking that from the waist down she was the Tim Man.
