Yup. I sat centre Gallery A34 yesterday evening. I'd take Gallery over upper circle. View and sound were fantastic for the price. AA15 you get some good views of ensemble, last supper and Pilate. If B61 is near the end, the corner seats are lousy. I'd aim for centre in the gallery, avoid upper, try any AA or BB slips in dress. Benefit of the gallery is the wall of sound hits you up there - nowhere left to go! Plus if you like observing the band, you get a good view of them too. Ok thank you! The AA seats are a bit more expensive but I’ll splash out on them lol! Do you think the sound is okay and balanced on the far AA seats of the circle? They are the £30 ones The sound design is excellent and you'll have no probs at all. Obviously the more central you are, the better the experience. As others have said, opt for high numbers / auditorium left. AA seats are tight if you're 6'0 and stocky. Any bigger it'll be uncomfortable. If you have Bsrbican membership you save 20% and if there are more than 2 going you and pretty much recoup your membership on stalls seats.

We had (1970s / 80s London): Jesus Christ, Superstar, Came down from heaven on a Yamaha, did a skid, what a flyd, Bashed his b*lls in on a dustbin lid. We were a couth lot. Also found out many years later what flyd was slang for. Something Jesus, being Jewish, wouldn't have had, in fact. To be delicate about it. I always thought the '80s flid as slang for a victim of Thalidomide. Rather like the way Joey or spacko was bandied about, the '80s were pretty cruel times for insults. But very funny at the time.

^Not round our way, it was "Joey" (Joey Deacon, an amazing man featured on "Blue Peter" for those too young to know) for anyone who wasn't "normal." Which was indeed truly awful and one of the few things most of society has now improved on, I think. Thankfully. You're right. I look at my kids and think they have much more emotional intelligence than I had at their age. Differences now are accepted, understood and sometimes celebrated.

The terminology used by the professionals was just as bad looking back on it, as you'll discover if you search for the actual title of Joey Deacon's book. Thankfully times have changed.

Finally! Enjoy yourselves - which you will. There was a cast+director Q&A this evening which was really interesting apart from the odd asinine question.

Right side or left side?

Right side or left side? Left every time my friend, though right is good too. Rows E - L will do perfectly. Membership of Barbicsn (and possibly Open Air too) brings a 20% discount. Well worth it in my view.

Shall book for either next Thurs or the following. Sadly I don’t live in London, so probably not worth it for a monthly trip down where I usually squeeze in anything new and favourites - which isn’t always going to include the Barbican.

Finally! Enjoy yourselves - which you will. There was a cast+director Q&A this evening which was really interesting apart from the odd asinine question. What was the question? Somebody asked Tim Sheader if Hamilton was his inspiration for the staging. Another asked about his inspired direction to create Judas' reprise of "I dont know how to love him" (something on the original concept album so not exactly a new innovation). Mr Sheader looked somewhat confused. Then there was the lady who gushed for a couple of minutes about how great the show was, then was asked for her question and said she didnt have one. The actors present were those who played Judas, Jesus, Mary, Pilate, Annas, Caiaphas (the most mellow speaking voice ever!) along with the director.

Whats the front row like for this? I was in the second row back last night and it was absolutely brilliant, but not sure if the very front would be as good as the seats are slightly lower and could possibly miss some of the stage. I’d recommend sitting around seat 20, most of the action will take place in front of you that way.

It looked like the real devotees had bagged the first and second rows - crucial scenes play out right in front of you. If it helps we went earlier in the week and, without asking, were upgraded from Balcony to Stalls! Rows L, M and N to be exact. Bloody marvellous (the upgrade, the seats, the sound, the staging, the cast, the evening!).
If you are still to book, I would suggest looking for evenings when the Barbarian site is showing good availability specifically in the Stalls, and maybe take a punt on an £18 balcony seat ..
