I have a ticket for today’s performance, no link so far. If this one is off I expect they’d inform us...
Anyway, hope Andrew gets well soon! Good it’s not a problem to relocate the ‘seats’, not like in the real auditorium.. Small blessings!

I've booked for tonight also - would like to hear if it's rescheduled sooner rather than later as there is an NT Live in the cinema that's my plan B...
I am cosmically bored and cannot face another evening with nothing stimulating to do!

Tonight's performance cancelled too. They have offered to move tonight's tickets to Sat mat and evening (1st) or the extra performances they are putting on - Fri 7th and two on Sat 8th (which go on public sale on Monday). There is also the option to say that you can't make any of those and then I guess they refund?
Unfortunately tonight’s performance (Thu 30 Jul, 7.30pm BST) of Old Vic: In Camera – Three Kings is cancelled due to Andrew Scott being taken ill. It's nothing serious and is not COVID-19 related. Andrew is using today to recover and should be back with us tomorrow.
We're incredibly sorry that your performance has been affected. We would like to move your booking to another performance – we have also added three additional performances on Fri 07 and Sat 08 Aug. These new performances will not go on sale to the public until Monday which means they are exclusively available to you until then.

All this week's performances now cancelled - the run rescheduled to 7 / 8 August. Andrew Scott is undergoing minor surgery but expected to be back for next week's performances. See twitter thread for more:

Hopefully he's back on form for next week.
I'm not joining in this time - Zoom didn't work well last time out in terms of video quality, so I don't hold any confidence it will be better this time.
If you're going to pay a decent price, you'd expect a decent stream - not much point paying for a pixelated mess.

I read an article about this, but hadn't twigged that I was supposed to join a ticket queue until reading this thread today, so a bit annoyed about that angle, but I'll cope.
I suppose in doing it live they want to limit how many tune into each stream to make sure that their end of things cope. There might be an argument that the biggest theatre fans will have known about the queue and deserve the cheapest tickets, but that forgets how life gets in the way for a lot of us.
I think many people treated the NT Live streams as a kind service they were providing to help us all cope with lockdown, and didn't give much thought to the fundraising side of things. 20p per stream sounds a bit rubbish, but with millions of streams, it's still a decent chunk of money, and a lot of good will for NT. The danger is that their generosity makes other tickets streams seem less generous, and we have high expectations of the same camera angles and resolution that were available to us when it was all pre-recorded in pre-COVID days.

What happens to that good will when they say they can't keep giving away the milk if no one is paying to come to the farm? People turn tremendously quickly when they feel they are being denied something they are entitled to... |

At first glance, £320,000 sounds like a lot, and I'm sure they won't be sniffing at it either, but with proper income generation a long way off, it's not going to do much. I'd used up my allowance of free articles, so couldn't read the detail, so not sure if that figure includes the advertising revenue from YouTube, although I don't suppose it's going to go far either. I did notice that the first screening had a link to donate in the video description, while later screenings had the TEXT 20 to xxxxx to donate £20, which I imagine is far more effective. It would be interesting to see if that made a difference. However, there will be people who think 'well, I donated last week ...', which is fine if money is tight, and yet ... Someone may have mentioned this already, but it struck me that the ticket model for Three Kings is perhaps planning for how to make up the difference if theatres open with a socially distanced audience in the theatre itself. So a third of the usual audience is watching in the theatre, with the other two thirds at home. |

Three Kings to be Rescheduled
We're sorry to let you know that Andrew Scott is still not well enough to perform and we'll be rescheduling all performances of Old Vic: In Camera – Three Kings and Old Vic: In Conversation to give him the time he needs to fully rest and recover. We'd like to reiterate that the issue isn't serious (or COVID-19 related).
The new dates will be confirmed soon. You don't need to do anything at the moment – your booking is safe and we'll contact you as soon as possible with information on how to move to one of the new performance dates.
Together with Andrew we want to send our heartfelt thanks to you all for your well wishes and for being so incredibly supportive and understanding at this really difficult time.
We're currently operating with a reduced and very hard working team so we'd ask that you wait until we can confirm the rescheduled performances before contacting the Box Office team with questions about your booking if possible.

I'd already cancelled my ticket as I couldn't make the other dates and they have sent an email offering me the chance to rescind my cancellation and wait to see if the new dates suit me, which is very good customer service. All credit to them, this must be a nightmare to deal with when they presumably just have a skeleton team working.
