Metropolis: The first time Maria and Steven sing the chorus of It's Only Love/Bring On the Night together with the 2 different melodies. Steven: "If it's only love..."/Maria: "It won't take long..." Goosebumps!

Not sure why I’ve never bothered with Carrie cos this is bonkers! Must research further. If you get the chance, try and listen to the full broadway soundboard recording. You get the full experience. The amazing - the mother and daughter material, Betty Buckley and Linzi Hateley, the original orchestrations, which are so atmospheric. The Crazy - most of the rest of it.... |

My obscure fave bits usually come with who is performing them as well
From Les Mis its Bamatabois turns up. But my love or hate is how its performed. When I went back to the show after the revamp I hated what they did, they added sound effects and it looked like a cartoon.
Les Mis also when the two police capture Jean Valjean in the prologue.
Maybe not obscure but Mrs Taylor's Lullaby in Bat Boy. Only saw it at Southwark Playhouse specifically what I saw Simon Bailey do.

Martin Guerre tour (version 4 of the show at that point I think!) and the harmonies in ‘Why’, specifically the passage: “how I longed for a chance to find somewhere and someone where I could find passion and a lover and gentle friend”

And

The bit where she's dressed up in the black and white outfit, feather in her hair and the fox stole around her and Norma Desmond returns to Paramout Studios and there's that voice shouting out to her
"Miss Desmond? Hey Miss Desmond! Up here Miss Desmond! It's Hogeye"
"Hogeye! Well, hello"
"Let's get a look at you!"
And he turns the spotlight on her and shes bathed in glorious light.
I appreciate that it's directly from the film but such a simple interaction and gesture- moving a spotlight- can have such an impact!

One of my favourite obscure moments is "southern motherf**** democratic republicans" in Hamilton - the way its sung and the choreography. Looking forward to watching it later on Disney + although I know that's one of the F bombs that is censored
I also appreciate in Wicked when Glinda arrives by bubble at the start - after your first time watching, you realise she looks so sad but has to act happy - when that's well done, its heart breaking.

Two things in Wicked, both I believe are in Act II.
The first is right after 'As Long As Your Mine' where there is the blink and miss it image of Dorothy's house spinning in the tornado summoned up by Madame. Morrible.
The second where Elphabah sarcastically says to Glinda 'We can't all travel by bubble'.

That photograph was taken about two weeks before lockdown commenced when I was in the ABBA Museum in Stockholm and that is the helicopter from the cover of the Arrival album. |

I'm an ABBA fan so am slightly biased but in terms of museums, it was excellent! They had the costumes on display from both Mamma Mia! films and the jeep. There was a HUGE room of costumes actually worn by ABBA and gold records, including the touring costumes. They explain how the four of the met and their backstories. They have re-created the hut with the piano that Benny used to sit at whilst writing the songs and Bjorn used to tinker with his guitar and the recording studio. You get to go into a booth and 'record' yourself singing against an ABBA backing track, sing and dance with an ABBA avatar and what each of the four of them have done after ABBA, including both Chess and Kristina. I'd go again in a heartbeat. |

I like when Nessa sings "Elphaba, seee..." and Elphaba crouches down next to her in time with it. A small but nice touch.
In Kinky Boots when Lola's dad takes his hand. Always brought a lump to my throat!
In Memphis when Mr Simmons is talking about his son, "He's 15...16...something like that."
