A rehearsed reading. So nice to see it as if you were zooming the people yourself, so very immediate. And what an interesting little piece, all about a wartime fighter pilot and his affairs, the plastic surgeon who treated him. Reminded me of Rattigan. Another one next Tuesday. I’m very much impressed by the efforts being made by this small theatre which had just got into its stride with a brilliant programme for this year but then curtailed and experiencing a flood.

Found this quite excellent, the ‘agricultural’ nature of the production made it for me feel much closer to a Theatre experience than a video one.

Yes. Good. I like rehearsed readings, they are pared-back theatre with no distractions and the performer/audience relationship is often much better than in a conventional production. Read Not Dead at the Globe is the only regular season of readings I’m aware of. The Almeida Greek Comedies season was also good.
