Assuming the proshot Cats is going to appear at some point. At least after that and Phantom, that's all of the 'already available' performances covered and we might then start getting some rarer stuff. While I get that they want to appeal to the masses, they must know that a lot of us have already seen these mainstream recordings numerous times. Having said that, if they captured Hannah Waddingham and Danielle Hope in Oz, I will be very happy. Or anything Sunset-related. You’re forgetting By Jeeves. True. Someone had recorded it from what looked like a box seat. I can’t remember if it was with John Barrowman - I think it may have been with Alexander Hansen? |

Hope this is ok here as it's ALW-related - an EP has been released on Spotify of some of the Jesus Christ Superstar songs recorded by female vocalists. Shoshana Bean and Cynthia Erivo are featured. Thought it might be of interest to some of you 😀

I can't find a full performance of Elaine, sadly. I'll keep hunting though! There is definitely a full recording of Elaine Paige in Sunset, as the whole thing was on YouTube a while back. Someone had recorded it from what looked like a box seat. I can’t remember if it was with John Barrowman - I think it may have been with Alexander Hansen? It was filmed on the Adelphi’s house camera. So an archive recording, rather than “official” one. |

Who is the odd ‘modern’ phantom on the right hand side? Peter Joback, he grew into the role a bit. He had only been in the show about 6 weeks at the time. |

Just watching Phantom. Is it just me, or does it switch to a studio recording of the main song (the one with all the screeching at the end) when they’re coming up on the gondola? The sound quality seems to change dramatically.

The sound quality seems to change dramatically. I believe that when the song starts the singing is recorded as it’s not the actual actors moving backwards and forwards at the top. Then when they come out on the boat it changes to them actually singing. |

Really enjoyed this. The camera work allowed me to see some of the facial expressions and nuanced acting that I don't recall from my in-person attendance.

Just finished watching. Really enjoyed that. The orchestra sounded stunning! I've realised that I find Christine deeply annoying. What part of "He's a creepy, psycho stalker!" doesn't she get?   Then we have the business of her crying over him at the end...er...he just tried to kill the man you love, and he's already killed 2 other people! I wonder what he'd have to do to make her throw up her hands, declare that he's a creepy, psycho stalker and storm off?  |
