I had a look at Elton John's tour dates. There's a gap between 9 and 16 October. Is that when he's going to fly over from the USA to fine tune anything that needs fine tuning?

Well it depends on how much they have already locked. I am happier than James Graham is there on the book which is a larger moving matter and Tom Deering is more than capable to be making the changes to the music as required. He can be on zoom. Agree better in the room but the broader team is as important. I had a look at Elton John's tour dates. There's a gap between 9 and 16 October. I’ve been told he’s been joining in via Zoom. And that he’s been fairly active and involved over the course of the past few years. I don’t know what “hands on” means but it sounds like he’s been more involved than he allegedly was on Prada. However, if this turns out to be the James Graham and Jake Shears show (with a lil bit Elton) that would be fine by me.

After reading all these posts, I bit the bullet and bought a 70 pound membership so that I could get early booking. The excitement for the show will be through the roof and because I didn’t want to chance public booking I just got a membership and was able to get the seats that I wanted for the date that I wanted. But word to the wise, there’s very little left for a lot of the dates. So if there is interest, I’d recommend booking ASAP. Of course they’re holding back House Seats and other seats, but the theater is very small. I’d imagine everyone on here knows that the Almeida doesn’t sit 1000 people 🤣 I bet people taking out memberships went through the roof in advance of these shows. Not really. I’ve never been to the Almeida. No idea how many seats it has. Sorry if that’s hilarious but how about we don’t make assumptions?

I’m sure everyone who jumps on the site Tuesday will end up with tickets, one way or another.

Maybe. It’s been my experience over many years of hot-ticket show threads on the board that everyone who really desperately wants tickets usually does get them. It’s pretty rare for the folks here to actually miss out in the end
Takes a bit of patience, sometimes - checking back for returns, late ticket releases, people with spare tickets to sell, etc.

Director Rupert Goold had a small piece in The Guardian about Tammy Faye. He said "The world of televangelism, in particular the Bakkers’ show, was “a theatrical world” which lent itself to a musical comedy, he added. But there was a serious side, too."
Musical Comedy? oh.
Not really what I was expecting. Fingers crossed it more of the serious side. We'll find out in 5.5 weeks.

It’s mostly sold out already and it’s a tiny theatre. There won’t be tickets for everyone who logs on to get them. BUT Tickets do appear on the website every now and again. I kept checking and managed to get tickets to Macbeth which was an instant sell out.

Even with a membership, if you see two shows at the almeida, it would be cheaper than two west end shows in many cases.

I bought membership at the weekend to get tickets for this - availability is extremely limited for the majority of the run. And even more so for Streetcar.

Wonder what theatre they're aiming for if this does have a future life? I assume somewhere like the Phoenix or Lyric rather than say the Duke of York's or the Pinter.

I refuse to pay £70 for membership in order just to purchase 1 ticket.
If I am unsuccessful I will put out a please to anyone who may have a spare ticket.
Other than that once the run has started I will have to queue for a return. I did it for American Psycho

Yes, there are performances with low availability (especially earlier in the run), and the stalls are pretty well sold. But t’s not remotely sold out. There are performances where the circle has barely been touched

I succumbed to a membership - was getting too stressed by the doomsaying!
And from what I can see right now if you are content to be in the circle or the back of the stalls a bit later you’ve got plenty of dates available, particularly later on in the run.
If you wanted central top-price stalls then there’s a few scattered singles still available.
This is of course assuming that tickets in the stalls were not held back for public sale.

I caved and bought a membership in the end. :0 I bought R/V seats. Price point wise - £10 for TF and £15 for Streetcar! Never had any issue with them before in the stalls.
