Oh dear. They are packed into dressing rooms at the Almeida. If that’s the case then I imagine that tomorrow won’t go ahead

Well I need to know if I should come from Oxford…I’m pretty sure they must know tonight if tomorrow is on or not? Surely? Hope they aren't too poorly too (heard myself being all “me me me” there!

How sad for the cast and audiences for it to probably end like that. Can’t imagine it will go ahead tomorrow either as it seems like they’ve been scrambling for a while. Keeping my fingers tightly crossed for a transfer and for it not to go straight to Broadway…

They don’t know yet if it will go ahead. Assuming they’re trying to see if they can cover the poorly cast members tracks with the people still there

! It did show how strong the underlying material is which is interesting because I had previously thought that Katie Brayben was a much larger part of it’s brilliance. She is fantastic, don’t get me wrong, and I still can’t imagine the show without her, but it’s also just a really great show imo. Interesting to hear this. I was wondering if this was one of those cases where people mix up a great role with a great performance. It’s often the case that what we attribute to an individual performer is baked into the role itself. Though, naturally, as KB originated the role she will have influenced it during rehearsals, and an understudy is expected to deliver the interpretation of the lead rather than do something totally different. Though it was also Gemma Sutton and Zubin Varla who did a lot of workshopping for the show back in 2020. So they’ll have a familiarity with it too.

Box office phone lines only open at 11am….the actual box office opens at 10am. If anyone hears any news about today’s matinee can they post here please? I’ve emailed and asked box office but as already said they may well not know yet.

Such a shame for them…..always sad when they have to cancel last day. Let’s hope we see it back again in the west end soon!

Oh wow did I get lucky. I saw the performance on Wednesday night which I suppose was Katie’s final. Such a shame for them to not have a proper closing show.

Was supposed to be going this afternoon - I've been looking forward to the show for so long, it's such a shame not to be able to see it

It's Spring Awakening all over again! Memo to self: don't book first previews, and don't book last nights at the Almeida!

Looks like Elton jinxed it by showing up Wednesday night! (Or someone could see the symptoms coming on among the cast and decided to get him in to see it quick.)
Such a shame to cancel the last few shows. I feel very lucky to have seen it twice. I am sure it will have a future life, the only questions are when and where.

In my state of mourning (okay mourning is probably too dramatic but I really am very disappointed that it’s closing at all let alone can’t perform it’s final shows) I may be reading too much into this, but Jake Shears has commented on Andrew Rannell’s IG post ‘see you after intermission kids’.
Hopefully a sure fire sign it’ll be back. I just hope it’s on this side of the Atlantic.

The Almeida run was always meant to be limited, they can't extend it because A Streetcar Named Desire starts next Monday and I imagine Andrew Rannells has to get back to the USA.

I’ve said a million times they had a transfer in place.

I’ve said a million times they had a transfer in place. Beginning to look more like 'had' in the past tense rather than 'have'. They risk losing momentum if they do not announce something soon.
