About time!!!!!! I think there's such a lot of crossover with Oliver Tompsett's Shakespeare in & Juliet too. When I saw the workshop; I could defo see him playing this role in Something Rotten! I will be considering a trip to see this one - Right Hand Man and A Musical, are brilliant numbers.

Be interesting to see how this goes down with UK audiences and if its adapted at all. I saw it on Broadway and enjoyed much of it, but it was very much an stereotypical american view on british history and characatures which was a bit eye rolling at times

I saw Something Rotten on Broadway and thought it was extremely tiresome, despite the best efforts of Christian Borle et al. The number "A Musical" was clever and wittily staged but it was, on the whole, not a great evening in the theatre. I felt in the minority - the Americans all around me were clearly amused and enjoying themselves, but the endless Shakespeare/Bottom gags (and the general archness of the piece) grew very wearying very quickly for me.

Priority booking open along with Breakfast...is the Rep going to focus on premiering lots of ‘new’ musicals from now on? I hope so as it’s a very short journey for us.Lovely theatre with a very friendly atmosphere.

I've listened to the OBC and found it quite amusing so think I'll have a trip to Brum to catch it. Just think when HS2 opens us Londoners will be able to get to Brum in about 4 and a half minutes so it will be quicker than going into the west end. 😁

^Raked/banked seating...no centre aisle...very comfortable seating...I’m 6’4 and legroom has never been a problem...great view from everywhere...sat front row a few times and it is fine...not renowned for musicals per se but they did a wonderful Wiz Of Oz a few years back...for drivers, parking is best at the Arena but be aware that if there is a concert on and you park on a higher level it could be a very long wait to get out...from New Street railway station it’s a brisk ten minute walk...three Wetherspoons in the city centre for those (like me) who don’t want to spend a fortune eating out...some lovely restaurants along the canal off Broad Street...sorry,this is turning into a tourist guide lol

Great news, this has been on my wishlist for a while. Now need to look at all the other nearby theatres to see if I can make a double-show day out of it 😀

We're going to drive up from Brighton to see it once, so want a good view. We like aisles though for toilet purposes right before it starts! Looks quite steep, so don't want to sit too high. Any help would be much appreciated

^ tour guide part 2...you have two commercial theatres which are the Alex and the Hippo plus the Old Rep,the Crescent Theatre and the wonderfully-eclectic Blue Orange and Old Joint Stock...the tram will take you direct to Wolverhampton for the Matchem-designed Grand Theatre and the Symphony Hall,Town Hall and Arena venues are close by the Rep. Down in Edgbaston near the cricket ground is the MAC.Top of the new Brum Library building there is an open-air ‘skygarden’ with terrific views across the city and the Museums are also excellent.
Best place to sit for me at the Rep?...8 rows from the front, bang in the middle...just my personal preference. As there is no centre aisle, patrons enter into the ‘bowl’ via left or right doors at stage level for the lower-level seats or go upstairs to enter from upper doors right and left for seats towards the rear.It is a huge stage and the acoustics are terrific imo.Sat on back row once with a school party and it is fine...not vertigo-inducing like for example some of the upper circles in WE theatres

The Rep is a great theatre, been there many times. Acoustics and view are good pretty much anywhere due to its design. Just personal preference if you like to be near the front. The first couple of rows have more limited legroom but after that it's fine.
