Had an email from Hope Mill this morning saying 20 tickets for the 5th November would be released at 4pm. Was refreshing the page since about 15:50 unti just now and literally not once did it not say "sold out". Tried ringing the box office but it just made me leave a voice mail and I couldn't speak to anyone? Then a few minutes ago another email saying they'd all been sold! Gutted I never even had the chance

I am teetering on the edge of returning our 4 tickets as we would be two households mixing, and switching to live stream. I will let you know if I do.

Randomly clicked on the website again ten minutes ago and got a ticket anyway, but thank you!
Wonder what the exact running time will be.

Normally runs about 2hrs 40 depending on any changes or cuts they might’ve made. Please God this has already been recorded before they lock us down again. If anything can get me through it again, it’s a savagely high energy re-staging of one of my very favourite shows. NB: It hasn’t been recorded yet.

Increasingly thick skinned with the cancellations but if this ends up a gonner, I'll be seriously distraught. And would be so awful for the team who have against the odds made it this far.

Let's hope they have managed to record a dress rehearsal at least, would be such a shame.

Maybe even if they aren't allowed to perform in front of an audience, they would still at least be able to perform the show for filming purposes? The cast has been isolating in a bubble...

Well I'm here for tonight's show. They're certainly taking lots of precautions on the way in, though am a bit surprised that the only separation between groups is a sheet of plexiglass, no seats left empty. The new seating is also rather cosy! Not much room to spread. Set looks awesome. Can see the band behind a sheer curtain at the rear of the set.

There were 6 rows I think. We were in the front one. Boy the new seats are uncomfortable, maybe it's because we were squeezed between the sheets of plastic but there is no room to move on them at all. Anyway, really enjoyed the show itself. The cast are really enthusiastic, they are present all the time. When they aren't performing on the central podium where the action takes place then they sit around the edge and join in. Some clever choices in the staging. Even though the cast have isolated together, they obviously aren't allowed to touch and it's interesting to see how they get round it. Highlights for me were Tango Maureen (which may owe more than a little to a certain part of the recent JCS staging) and Contact where a giant plastic sheet is utilised. Was lovely to see a cast giving so much and when they all came togethet for the "no day but today" at the end I may have had a tear or two. Not sure how this will fare after next week- the artistic director gave a little speech at the beginning about how they had had to overcome obstacles to get where they were and that they were now facing more.

The only positive thing about the old seats was that you could re-space them at the end of the row, encroach onto the aisle by a few inches and give everybody a bit more width. I assume the new ones are attached to each other so that won’t be possible now. Glad you enjoyed it anyway. I suspect my decision whether to go or not will be taken out of my hands.

A bit of hope....they have confirmed that the filming for Rent Online is booked in for the last shows they will perform this week so that’s some hope but my heart breaks for them all

Seems that it genuinely is strictly limited numbers for Rent Online.

And if that wasn’t enough for them to deal with, some criminal is selling fake tickets.

Have they mentioned the final few performances which might (in an I admit highly optimistic world) be after lockdown? Not from what I could see. Can’t see that being viable. You’d have to pay the cast a retainer presumably? if everybody who was due to see it agreed to convert their ticket to streaming then HM could come out of this ok financially. Better off even. I assume they’ll be offering that.
