Miracle is still the opener - it's also whiplash for the amount of West End performers in the space of 2 minutes.

I can understand why they would cut Loud and Telly, I suppose. A shame, though, as they get more and more relevant to our modern reality-TV-social media age as time goes by.

Telly wouldn't really work on screen as it's a fourth wall break before the start of act 2. Loud, I'm guessing the scene with Miss Honey is now dialogue.

Lynch can belt, which I wasn't expecting - she was who I was most worried about and I thought she did really well. Thompson is arguably the best I've ever heard her sing - she really belts the end of Smell of Rebellion. The kid who plays Bruce is an icon and I'm obsessed with him - an absolute star. And Matilda for me takes a little time to warm up, but is still great.

Is My House included in the soundtrack for the film? It has always been one of my favourites in the show.

Yes - and it’s a beautiful performance of it.

I spent two thirds of the film trying to work out who Trunchbull looked like. Then when it had distracted me for over an hour I realised. {Spoiler - click to view} Derek Faye

Saw the film this afternoon. Overall i would rate it 8.5- the changes to “when i grow up” work but i miss certain things If anybody would like to know anything about the film feel free to ask When I Grow Up was a brilliant concept but under delivered. We saw that adorable little kid as Evil Kneivel, and another kid as as a bus driver, and another as something else but it was all very half hearted. Sorry but I am going to be the voice of doom on this. It’s fine, I enjoyed it but it’s Netflix quality not Cinema quality. Totally didn’t believe in Miss Honey. Matilda is fab, as is Bruce and the little lad under the blazers is adorable. When i saw the show on tour my complaint was that the sound was terrible. I couldn’t hear the lyrics. On the film it’s ok for the leads but in the ensemble numbers again the lyrics are totally lost. And before you dismiss that comment, look at it in the light of someone who doesn’t know the show or the songs. It is a problem when you can’t hear the words that those very talented kids are singing.

I understand their removal but I’m sad to hear Loud and Telly have been cut - they’re two of my favourite songs (I love a character piece)

I’m so excited for this, I really am. Avoiding listening to the soundtrack (if it’s even out yet) until I see the film on 25th November. Probably the most excited I’ve ever been about seeing a movie musical, and that includes the sublime West Side Story remake.
How is the Doctor’s singing in “Miracle” - who plays him? Also, please tell me “Quiet” hasn’t been cut! Is it sung well?
So excited!!!

Matt Henry of Kinky Boots fame is the Doctor and he's good! It's quite a whiplash scene as it's West End bingo with the amount of people you recognise as parents etc.
And Quiet is still in - the only songs that we've lost are Loud and Telly, and Pathetic is a little shorter than normal but otherwise everything else is still there.

There was a blink and you’ll miss it photo of Mrs Wormwood and a dance partner in the background of the house set but didn’t even get enough time to see if it was Aljaž, the rest of his role has hit the cutting room floor.

That makes me think they might have filmed Loud and then decided to cut it out later rather than it being the plan from the start to not use it.

We may get to see it later There are extras on Netflix alongside trailers so will probably be there when it’s released, or maybe across social media.

Out of interest, and I appreciate they're two completely separate entities, but are there any nods/references to Danny Devito's Matilda in there?

I really loved this - a total joy from start to finish. Lashana Lynch was absolutely delightful!
