Never yet seen a dud at the beautiful Curve Theatre. Whatever its history I'm confident their Roman Holiday will be a winner.

And I've never had the opportunity to see a production there, despite staying in the area more than once, so it'd be great to have the chance. Only issue for me is that lots of theirs do transfer/tour, so I wouldn't want to commit to a time-consuming and expensive trip if I could have seen something more locally idc.

Leicester is a very easy and economical place to get to and back from using public transport for matinees. The theatre is less than 10 minutes walk from both the railway station and the bus/coach station. |

Only a short run so should do well at the Curve. But if they are investing in an original production they are probably hoping to take it on tour afterwards.

It's certainly got a different director for a start. The bookwriting team is partially new as well; the San Francisco production's book was written by Katy Speer, Terry Grossman and Paul Blake ( reference). This new production will have Kirsten Guenther and (again) Paul Blake. I too heard mostly not-great things about the SF production. It will be nice if they can turn it around, but it did sound pretty dire. |

It seems a bit odd it's having such a short run. Two weeks. Even The Color Purple had longer and then also went to Birmingham after.

And prices are a really decent reduction too, unlike in many recent WE productions where there's been barely a nod to the concept of 'previews'! |

I generally find Curve cheaper than a lot of other regional venues. I recently wanted to move some of the tours i'm planning to see to theatres outside Leicester to fit my schedule better but found that Curve offered some cheaper (and better) tickets than any other Midlands theatres for the shows, even without my members reduction, so i stuck with Curve.
Also as a side note, i believe Nikolai is out in New York at the minute working on the show with the two writers.

I've just taken a look & spotted seat A17, at one end of the front row, priced at only £10! It says limited leg room but I think I can put up with that for such a cheap price. |

I'm slightly worried that the statement says that tickets will be automatically transferred once they have finalised the 2021 dates. I have no idea what I'll be doing in 2021 - hell, right now none of us can be certain if we'll even be alive in 2021! - & I live 1h45 from Leicester so can't necessarily easily turn up (if still alive) on whatever new date they select for me. I'd rather have a credit that I can then use to re-book nearer the time.

I love the film, I love Cole Porter, but it would be awfully hard to fill the shoes of Audrey Hepburn and Gregory Peck. However, if finances are good, might make a promising birthday outing for me... |

Anyone planning to see this? I've just gone to check tickets for some American relatives visiting Bath next week and I can't tell if on some of the dates the dress and grand circles have just sold out or if they've closed them off? I'm leaning towards the latter given how many seats are available other dates. It's starting in a couple of days, that seems rough. I confess I'm not that familiar with productions in Bath. Are they usually this slow selling or do they do a bit of on-the-day business this time of year? I suppose I'm mostly wondering if I can recommend they hold off buying until they're there?
