I think its Jason Manford. He played a detective in Curtains and was Pirelli in Sweeney Todd, which would account for the cut throat razor.

The 🎭 could be because he was on The Masked Singer. I just feel like it’s far more likely to be him than DHP, especially if Frasier’s supposed to be getting a new series.

Jason Manford as the Baker? Makes sense. And if DHP, it would be the Narrator, and seems like a headline-type of name that would attract people...

Jason Manford is dull. Just because he's a man on the telly, who can sing, and he does sing very well, doesn't mean he should be cast in everything. He's be a bland Baker. This always makes me laugh: lowbudgetmilkywhites.tumblr.com/

And I hope they don't include the changes made in the 2002 Broadway revival I think you needn't worry about that. Most revivals tend to stick to the original script, rather than the 2002 version. The only change that would probably happen would be the inclusion of 'Our Little World', which would be a warm welcome if you ask me.

JOJ has apparently auditioned for this. Not sure what role. Possibly the Baker?

JOJ has apparently auditioned for this. Not sure what role. Possibly the Baker? Who’s JOJ? John Owen-Jones, more than 1500 performances in the mask in The Phantom of the Opera in the West End and tour. Also the youngest ever Jean Valjean in Les Miserables in the West End, also played it on tours, on Broadway and in the concert version, with performances again numbering in the thousands. One of Britain's greatest leading men.

JOJ can sing and act, but I don't see him as The Baker at all.

Looks like it's cancelled
"We are writing to let you know that the production of Into the Woods will no longer be taking place at The Old Vic.
We are sorry for any disappointment this may cause and would like to offer you a full refund.
Our Box Office team will automatically refund your tickets back to your original payment method within the next seven working days."
I had seen a few MT performers tweet about a big show being cancelled this morning. Wasn't expecting it to be this.

A shame; though perhaps Terry Gilliam is not the man to do it justice? Still no news on A Sunday in the Park with Jake Gyllenhall - I think they've still got my money.

Hopefully it’ll show up somewhere else. Whatsonstage says also says it’s not happening at the Old Vic but “a future life is expected”

Based on tweets today it seems like Alex Young (Baker's Wife?) and Charlotte Jaconelli (Little Red?) had been cast.

Very disappointing - unless it's in order to accommodate Groundhog Day ?

Whatsonstage says also says it’s not happening at the Old Vic but “a future life is expected” Could well be and the wording of the e mail says not happening at The Old Vic rather than just cancelled or not happening. The statement on their website (according to BW): The Old Vic and co-producers Scenario Two have mutually agreed that the production of Into the Woods, scheduled for spring 2022, will not take place at The Old Vic. All ticket bookers will be contacted directly. The Old Vic wishes the show well for its future life. definitely seems to suggest it's going to turn up somewhere else.
