I do not care how much I pay for this one, I'm going. I've denied myself a few tickets recently so I can splurge a little cash. Any idea of onsale dates?

I'm guessing Autumn 2020, would be a great show to reopen the Lyric after its refurbishment.

Agree, been a bit reticent in paying full price recently, happy to break the bank for this one.

I’ve got my fingers crossed for the refurbished Lyric theatre as Its on my list of WE theatres not yet visited. Great cast so will book wherever it will be playing.

It's a Prime Suspect reunion! I love Mark Strong in anything.

Saw it in Edinburgh with the Dutch cast, it’s excellent and, as you would expect with Icke, plays around with the original. Given the nature of the prophecy it really kept you thinking as to how it was all going to play out. Hans Kesting was Oedipus (and a magnetic performance from him, as usual).

I would love to comment on this cast but I'm too busy breathing into a bag.
I'm going to be so poor next year...

The only downside to this is it's presumably going into a rotten old West End flea-pit theatre rather than somewhere like NT/Barbican. What configuration of theatre did it play in originally in Amsterdam ?

Because he does brilliant, intense and original productions of both well-known and less familiar great plays. He gets excellent performances from actors and makes classic plays feel contemporary. The Almeida, I'm sure, would have loved to keep him given his track record. How often in your theatre-going lifetime has a Schnitzler play (admittedly a 'version') transferred to the West End? He is widely admired - and given prestigious directing jobs - throughout Europe.

Hans Kesting and Marieke Heebink were so superb in this that I couldn't imagine who could possibly replace them. But this is great casting.

>> Hans Kesting and Marieke Heebink were so superb in this yes, two names sure to set the west end box office alight, not to mention Broadway (sorry, couldn't resist) that's showbiz, folks ! Well no, not least because they performed it in Dutch. Your point?

She was absolutely incredible in Medea earlier this year, one of the finest bits of acting I've seen on stage.

The good news is that Robert Icke agrees with Peter Brook that the most depressing thing about theatre today is excessively high ticket prices. Let's hope he is able to convince the producers of this.

Is this still happening. There are rumours on Twitter (X) that Icke is doing Henry IV parts 1 and 2 in the West End next with Ian McKellen as Falstaff. Noel Coward theatre.

I get the feeling that a lot of Sonia Friedman's focus is on Broadway these days. This seems to have gone ice cold unfortunately.
