The announcement is next Thursday, apart from South Pacific, does nobody know any rumours? Unusually nothing from Baz this morning, though of course he is on one of his jollies. The Oscars, darling

There's the speculation in another thread about the 'On Your Toes' revival being choreographed by Andrew Wright also being at CFT. And a while back, 'Merrily We Roll Along' in the Minerva was alluded to.

So I think the announcement is tomorrow. We have South Pacific and On Your Toes as heavily rumoured. I reckon Daniel Evans will announce his leaving too

Not a musical but overheard people talking at the Almeida recently about them doing Andrea Levy's The Long Song this summer.

Where did you hear he is leaving? I didn’t but as he is spending several months this year directing productions in other countries I kind of fingered he might have handed in his notice

Well the Moffat play sounds fun, but won't see it unless it transfers to London. That and Assassins would be great, as I missed the Chocolate Factory version.

South Pacific's cast is so fantastic that I'm definitely interested. Assassins and The Unfriend both sound essential TBH. Might have to make a few trips to Chichester this year.

Love the cast for South Pacific - lovely to see Joanna Ampill back!
I was expecting Assassins in the Minerva, but it'll be interesting to see it in the main house!

it would be a much better fit in the smaller theatre. hey hum. After the truly excellent MCF and then Watermill / Nottingham Playhouse do we need another so soon?

Had pretty much decided not to go to Chichester this year as its such a long day and I am exhausted when I get home. Plus I was a bit "meh" about South Pacific. However Julian Ovenden and Rob Houchen have 2 of the most beautiful voices I know of so its a trek I have to make. Then they have added Assassins which is a favourite Sondheim of mine so that's 2 treks for the year. Might have a look to see about possibly staying overnight to break the journey down a bit.

I wonder if South Pacific is aiming for a West End transfer? Rob Houchen is cutting short a West End run to be in it, which doesn't make much sense unless the show has a future beyond regional theatre.

Might have to pay for membership again as there are about 5 productions for which I'd probably book. Once again the double irritations of the fact that previews are far cheaper in the Minerva but never any matinees until after PN and that booking dates, whether for members or public, are both Saturdays when most keen theatregoers are setting off for a day's theatre, etc. So a choice between staying in to book and missing out on part of your day or taking a chance on leaving it until late that night or the next day.

With this cast I hope SOUTH PACIFIC transfers. It should be gorgeously sung. I am presuming Julian Ovenden will sing Emile’s music in the higher keys that Jose Carreras sang for his studio recording.

Members booking day and the server threw a bit of a wobbly as presumably couldn't cope with demand. However eventually managed to get tickets for South Pacific and Assassins. Both shows on chosen dates pretty well booked already and all the obvious seats i.e front rows and aisles gone.
