Ouch, those prices are painful. Was going to book a £12 balcony seat, but now I think I'll wait until casting is announced if I'm going to have to fork out more than double the money for the same seat

I’m a bit confused, as I booked stalls tickets for £75 each and most of them seem to be that way, with centre premium seats at £125. (Not that that’s cheap or anything.)

Oof that's some pricing. As much as I adore Chess I'm holding off until I know who I'm seeing sing/murder it respectively before I shell out.

From what I can see, it's a bit cheaper in the week. @theatremonkey's quoted prices earlier in the thread appear to be for weekends.

Ah, I see. I never go to the theatre at weekends so would never check then. Still ridiculous though!

I wonder if there’s a bit of cheeky practise going on here. Put them on sale at hiked up prices. Joe Public thinks “ooh we’ve had Glenn, Alfie, Kathryn who will it be next?” and books. Then they roll out a cast of no-names.

I think for £150 I would like Agnetha as Florence, Frieda as Svetlana, with Benny and Bjorn as Walter and Molokov.

Maria Ylipaa, who played Kristina recently has been announced as Florence in 2018...... but in Sweden not London.

I saw Maria as Kristina in Sweden and she was good. Has a very clear voice. The acoustics in the Cirkus Arena are very good too (though the seats are not comfortable!) She’ll be good as Florence in Sweden.

I'm feeling chuffed that I've managed to get a couple of £75 seats on the front row of the stalls for one of the midweek matinees. With the depth of the orchestra pit in front, there's plenty of room to take in the whole stage and get the spectacle. I'll be going anyway so I really couldn't see the point in holding back, waiting for the cast to be announced. It'll sound magnificent with that huge orchestra in that particular auditorium, and some of the score's biggest highlights aren't even sung!

When casting is finally announced and we're told Katherine Jenkins is playing Florence opposite Glenn Close as Svetlana, and Ball and Boe (or is it Boe and Ball? Cannon and Ball??) are playing the male leads with improvised banter as part of Tim's new 'finished version', you can all have a laugh at my expense.

Looking forward to this one already...

That’s precisely why I’ve booked - one of my favourite scores, never had the chance to hear it live with a full orchestra and choir before. So it should sound incredible. Just so long as they don’t cut “Merano” - have seen three different productions and every time it has not been included.

Got a far right stall seat for 75. I sat in one of those for Sunset..these are great views. 14th of May!

I sat in the balcony I think when I saw 'Sweeney Todd'. The seat was a good view but unremarkable in itself. However I was sat next to Michael Xavier.

I would that like seat again please Mr Sir Lord Tim Rice.

Not Sweden, but Helsinki Finland. They speak several languages in Finland, also Swedish. There is a Swedish theater, which is small (about 800 seats) but with a large stage. They have staged Kristina here with Maria. She was an excellent Kristina and the whole show was a kind of legendary experience for me. Due to the small size of the theatre the emotional impact of the show was huge. They are going to use a smaller orchestra (still 15 pieces). They have experimented with the orchestrations in a new production currently playing in Kristianstadt Sweden. I have seen this production also and it worked very well. 
Chess is the passion of my life and I am really looking forward to the new Danish production (january), London and the Finnish one. Hopefully it will reach Broadway also.

 Having seen helen and met Helen several times, I can't agree more! What a great singer and what a nice person.

Yes bought my £15 balcony tickets and did it to coincide with my visit to Tina the musical at end of May. Should be a good couple of days.

Wasnt going to book until I saw the cast but my friend literally FORCED me (haha) to agree to be his access ticket partner. After virtually snapping his hand off, he got us front row stalls for half price on a Saturday. Don’t hate me 

I’ll be bloody LIVID if Merano gets left out
