No, but schedules all changed now due to the new Equity agreement to get the industry going Thanks! Funny it's some of the lower paid staff that are having to pay to get the industry going again isn't it? I'll shut up now, or I'll get into trouble 😁😜 Lest we forget that Nimax are currently running shows at a loss just to give people work. I think everyone needs to do their bit at this early stage before things return to ‘normal’ if they ever can.

I have to be very careful what I say, and actually I can't say what I want here, so I'll leave this conversation now. I have the information I needed, thanks!

Nothing’s been announced yet but looking at the website all shows between 8th-17th July are mostly or completely sold out with good availability from 19th onwards so they’re probably doing social distancing as well

Confirmed now to reopen with social distancing. Will only affect the first week and a half of performances.

Yep it did have rush for the 2 weeks it actually managed at the Piccadilly after official opening! I got an aisle seat in Row L that probably usually cost about £80 on the first day of rush after clicking endlessly for about half an hour, was a great view.

They definitely had rush at the Piccadilly, I got very lucky and picked up centre front row from rush about a week before everything closed.

A quick report from Tuesday evening at the Savoy.
TodayTix Rush appeared randomly during the afternoon and I was able to pick up a Row B Stalls seat, three from the end of the row. It turned out to be second row (despite seating plans showing more rows in front).
A comfortable seat and an excellent view. Not so excellent neighbours as the woman next to me and I were the only people wearing face masks and they were very sparse throughout.
They were requiring Covid-19 passports to get in, but lots of people didn't have them so were being sent somewhere else (presumably to be tested). Someone did glance in the general direction of my phone.
This was the usual party audience. I overheard an usher warning her boss that she was expecting a woman on the front row to kick off after a few drinks (thankfully she didn't). They were moving a lot of people forward (shockingly, the £100+ seats at the front still had availability), causing some confusion. Two people got moved to different seats in the front row, but I was disappointed they didn't sanitise the seats before moving two more people into them (a couple who wanted to move back to their original seats as they were short and stage is high - but they weren't allowed to).
The only time I've ever seen this before was the first preview at the Piccadilly, where I was sat right at the back. I enjoyed this a lot more with the near view, although it's never going to be considered a classic musical. The two leads are excellent and work well with what they have.
A nice speech from Danny Mac at the end welcoming everyone back and they did plenty of filming of the cheering maskless audience to show everyone what the West End has to offer!

This is disgraceful if so few were wearing face masks. And AFTER ATG announced their theatres had that policy.
That alone would stop me from seeing this show there.
So incredibly irresponsible.

I saw the show last night and would say from looking around me that about 60% of people didn't wear masks. :-( I didn't feel as freaked out as I thought I would, I guess once a show starts you concentrate more on what's happening on stage rather than around you, but I have to say I was a bit disappointed with that. On the tube I felt like 80-90% of people wore masks on my journey in and back home.
Show itself was ok, cast was good, LOVED Rachael Wooding and Bob Harms and it was a fun, lighthearted night out. Not one I would see again but glad I saw it.

Yesterday, at the Noël Coward and the Southwark Playhouse, there was near total compliance with requests to wear masks. At today's Sunday matinee of Pretty Woman, it was the other way around: less than 5% adherence plus the staff.
The checking of vaccination status was perfunctory. My phone screen was glanced at for a fraction of a second. I reckon I could have flashed up any old QR code and got past.
The latest ONS survey has 1 in 75 people carrying the virus but crucially does not reveal the incidence among the fully vaccinated, so we don't know how many of the 1000+ audience were likely positive and potential spreaders.
The unmasked audience were even encouraged to sing along during one number. Given what we now know about aerosol spread, this is the height of irresponsibility.
Out of many theatre trips this past year, this is the least safe I have felt.
The good news is that the show itself is not as bad as feared from some reviews. It's fairly pedestrian, with a couple of decent songs, uninspired choreography, but a spirited cast. The £85 ticket price did not translate into a lavish set, that looked more like the pared down version that goes out on tour. Overall, it's a three-star production I think.
Unfortunately, as seems to be the norm at the Savoy, audience behaviour is poor. The constant conversations and hen night atmosphere are actively encouraged by an opening voice demanding "Are you having fun yet?". Moments of sexually charged discovery and a poignant kiss are obliterated by inappropriate whooping. The final (title) song is obscured by a multitude of raised arms recording the whole damn thing.
Act 1: 14:33-15:40 Act 2: 16:01-17:01

I haven't see Pretty Woman yet in London. Saw it a few times in New York with original cast and replacements. The replacement were a bit odd as they had a strickly rock sound. I saw the the show in Hamburg in 2019 and loved it but saw that the physical production was more of a touring set. Maybe that what you got in London. It's still enjoyable and I like the narrator twist and all the known lines from the film. It would be a big mistake to miss it, huge!

Does anyone know if Danny Mac is performing this week? I can't find any holiday dates for hislm online. He's posted on Instagram that he's in Bognor Regis so I'm just checking. I was thinking about getting a Rush for this at the weekend but I'm not sure I want to sit through it if Danny's not in it!

Thank you, I did check their Twitter, looks like I was just too early! I'll save it for when Danny's back I think, no offence to Alex, I'm sure he's great, but no-one can compete with Danny Mac in a tux 🤣

If it’s the same Alex Hammond who covered Sam Attwater’s many absences in Seven Brides for Seven Brothers you’ll be in for a good show

I decided to see this in the end this afternoon, to fill the matinee gap before Rob Houchen's Zedel gig. Managed to get row E of the stalls for £25 direct from the Box Office, 10 minutes before the show.
It's really not great is it. Distinctly average all round. It doesn't benefit in any way from being turned into a musical in the way Legally Blonde and Hairspray did. It's a mostly forgettable score and a pale recreation of the film's key scenes but without the charm of its stars. Moments that worked in the film come across as forced and fake. The songs are also so 'middle of the road' it's a wonder the show's poster doesn't have white lines down the middle of it. I did expect better from Bryan Adams.
Aimee Atkinson looks stunning in those iconic outfits and belts her heart out but borders on caricature, and doesn't have the vulnerability or likeability that made Julia Roberts a star. Danny Mac was off so Alex Hammond was on as Edward, lacking any kind of charisma or drive at all. I found his acting decidedly average, and he only had one style of singing with the same facial expression and stance throughout. He definitely didn't convince as a dynamic powerful businessman. Rachael Wooding was probably the standout for me, they've fleshed the role of Kit out and she stole the show every time she was on. She sounded great in her numbers.
It was nearly a full house, and the typical 'hen night' crowd were in, even on a Sunday afternoon. Lots of completely unnecessary wolf-whistling and catcalling from the cheap seats spoiling various moments.
I suspect it'll run for a while, and do well on tour after that, but it's not one I'll sit through again.

Are they sticking to the timed entry for this? I've had an email saying I should arrive at 6 for the 7.30pm show which seems a bit early. I do like to be early for the theatre but 90 mins is a bit much!

That is ridiculous. They honestly expect people to sit in their seats for 90 minutes before the show starts?

Why does anyone pay attention to the timed entry? I never turn up more than 15 minutes before the show starts and have not had any issues. It is pointless.

Got there about 6.30 in the end, still early but we were having tea at the Savoy first so wandered over to the theatre when we'd finished.
The show was meh. Very talented cast and some funny moments, but overall wasn't impressed. Enjoyed Beauty and the Beast much more last night.

With a free afternoon, a trip to the Savoy theatre was hastily arranged this morning thanks to a TT rush ticket. £25 got me a Row L in the Dress Circle slap bang in the middle of the row. A great seat with an clear view of the stage. A quick look at the cast board showed that with no Danny Mac this afternoon, we would be having John Addison as Edward Lewis with the rest of the cast playing their usual roles.
Overall, I thought it was ok at best. I liked Aimee Atkinson as Vivian. A great vocal and some nice bits of comedy on show but I’m sorry, John Addington didn’t work for me. I felt his portrayal as Edward just left me cold. His performance just felt very one dimensional and didn’t really convince me at all. I’ve got no issues with the singing, but the acting was a different story. I just didn’t get any sense of him being a highflying businessman at all and really couldn’t invest any emotion into the developing relationship between Vivian and Edward.
On a more positive note, Bob Harms as Happy Man, Rachael Wooding as Kit and Alex Charley as Giulio were the standouts for me today. For me, whenever this trio were on stage there seemed to be more energy in the auditorium and they were sorely missed when not on stage. Rachael’s singing, wow, that was worth the ticket money alone.
It’s not the greatest musical score for me and there are a few numbers I’d bother to listen to again I’m afraid - “Freedom” and “I can’t go back” being those numbers.
Whilst I don’t think it was a terrible afternoon, it’s just not a show I’d watch again if/when it goes out on tour.
