Just been watching Natalie's live stream, she answered a qurstion regarding the long discussed reason Lauren wears ankle boots whilst everyone else doesn't. She doesn't know for sure but the two reasons are rumoured to be Annaleigh couldn't do the Finale in them and it just stuck. The other reason is it takes effort to put them on, and the quick change is just too fast she doesn't have the time to change into the thigh high boots.

It had a really good run- it's a gem of a show, and I think it'll have a great touring life and that's a barn of a theatre to fill so I'd rather it go out before it's 'Love Never Dies' levels of awkward empty. I finally saw this tonight and I loved it. I had avoided it because I loved the film but this is a really nice take on the story and Sex is in the Heel will be played at my funeral as go into the flames. What a tune. I agree, it will have a great touring life and a really great Amdram rights life. It is still selling pretty well for midweek but I think 3 years is enough for a West End show. Nobody wants to be Thriller or The Mousetrap.

I remember a while back that Amy Lennox answered this on Twitter and she said it was due to the super fast change.

Thanks got my tickets off official site ? Adelphi via rug ? Yes, you did, well done drowseychap. There's only aisle end safety rails, and rails in front of a couple of seats that have nothing else in front of them for, well, safety. You should be fine for that. The only real problem is aisle end seats in the front section first few rows do lose a fair bit of stage due to the angle of the circle itself. But those first few rows of the upper circle are quite OK then in terms of view, even on the sides?

You lose part of the stage if you sit on the very ends of the row in the front block but the view from majority of the seats is good. If you're going to sit on the end of the row I'd recommend sitting in the back section, yes you're slightly further away but you can see more of the stage

My second time seeing Kinky Boots was on Wednesday evening. Simon-Anthony Rhoden is an incredible Lola. I really liked Oliver Tompsett as Charlie; his voice just soars. Natalie McQueen was also great. It’s such a life affirming show, and I couldn’t help but get emotional at one or two points. ‘Not My Father’s Son’ is a really gorgeous moment.
It’s a shame it’s closing in the West End but it’s had a more than admirable run all the same.

Jason Leigh Winter returns to the London production fresh from the Tour tonight to play Harry. I mean, true definition of a Swing to go from production to production. He's returned several times so it's lovely to see a performer so game to just go on.

Oh great. Bought someone tickets for this tonight as a present. Although I usually hate it when people moan about understudies or covers being on, I really would have liked them to see at least some of the main cast. I don’t think it’s on to do practically a complete cover run like this. Most shows would run this one afternoon and wouldn’t dream of charging for it.

On the upside, Natalie is on... but that's only because Suzie is the cover for both so she can only do one track!

I would imagine some of these absences are through illness - which you can't do anything about.

I didn't say everyone! I'm sure a couple on holiday too. There really aren't any bad covers at Kinky Boots, so it'll still be a brilliant show - I once saw a Jersey Boys show where all of the 4 Seasons were covers (with Ben Jennings - now in KB - as Frankie) as the main Seasons were on Ant & Dec - still a great show.

I’m sure they’ll be great. Jordan Fox is fantastic (and hot!) so you’ll be in very safe hands with him - he’s got some pipes!

Natalie has said on Instagram that a "bug has hit the Kinky Boots fam really hard" so there must be something going around that has spread around the cast.

It wasn't actually a cover run, it was a joke because there was so many covers on tonight. There is a bug in the cast so that's why there down so many people and have had to bring back old cast members.

Three people were on holiday tonight. The other 9 who were missing were through illness! Suzie was supposed to be on holiday but they had to cancel it just so the show could still go ahead. Nobody planned for this to happen, it’s just what happens when a bug hits a company.
I went to see the show tonight, it was a brilliant performance. You could tell they were a little down on numbers but I don’t feel it was noticeable unless you knew the show well. Suzie, Emma, Ben and Jason all having to do split tracks in order to cover what needed covering. Olivia also had a quite a few extra bits here and there. Really does show the power and skill of the swings and the understudies in general.

Given how it’s being numbers wise, it’s not too surprising it’s closing on Broadway but six years is a great run.

I'm not too surprised it's closing to be honest, they've been ticking along nicely by constantly star casting the various lead roles but they can't do it forever.
