I'm completely clueless on how to post pictures and/or videos on here but... an audio has appeared on YouTube of Jemal Felix as Lola (3rd Cover) from last Monday. Bearing in mind that the original cast's 3rd cover Lola never even got to go on, this is great to hear!
After leaving the link in here I see it has appeared with the caption, easier than I thought!

Marcus was never a cover for Simon Senior. After Arun/Jemal its Dom Tribuzio who faces his back to the audience when he says his lines. Wow... interesting he was ahead of Marcus for that role. How did they do the hugging scene in the finale? |

For me it would reduce the impact of that scene - which I think is one of the strongest in the whole show. I wonder how they'd do the slow Cadillac Car reprise in Dreamgirls if both white actors were unavailable. |

Intervsl, as amazing as it always has been. Matt is senstational, stronger than ever, Paul is great as Charlie and Suzie McAdam as Nicola, love her voice! Thr cast are all fantastic and the show is in great shape. Lovely to see such a responsive audience too! All levels open, I'd say about 80/85% full? But Matt got entrance applause, that made me happy.  |

Thinking of perhaps queueing for dayseats on Monday as my sister and I fancy seeing it again. Loved Paul when I last saw this, but I'm hoping for David Hunter as I liked him a lot in Once and I've been hoping to see him in something else ever since. Glad you had a good time Danieljohnson14! |

This is awesome to hear - I went in the summer and sat right at the back of the half empty stalls, they offered to move me forward but I quite fancied having the space (I have long legs...). Then half way through act 1 this coach load turns up, loudly cracking open drinks and crisps and chatting away to each other, I kept asking them to be quiet. They got very upset that they had to sit at the back rather than in the seats they paid for - we got very upset they were loud, and they were kicked out in the interval. Some people!! Anyway - so glad to hear that mid week matinees are picking up and that the audiences are a bit more responsive! I can imagine this show is super hard to do when the crowd aren't feeling it. |

I saw the show for a 2nd time on Wednesday 2nd November at 2:30 and it was packed!! All 3 levels open (I think), dress and stalls certainly open. Audience were great (I was the youngest there though!!) and laughed at all the jokes with standing ovation at end. May I say the view from the front row is brilliant!!! I agree though that it wouldn't work when the crowd aren't feeling it (would be very awkward when the cast say a joke but audience don't laugh) Glad to see it's still doing fairly well still! |

Saw this again last night, and the cast were all on top form - Matt Henry is still delivering an astonishing performance after more than a year in the role which is some feat. Paul Ayres was on as Charlie and I really liked him in the role (more so than David Hunter who I saw last time). I think I prefer Amy Lennox to Elena as Lauren, but she still does a good job. Alan as Don is great, I prefer him to Jamie. He got lots of booing last night when he was being rude to Lola.
Speaking of the audience - I'd say it was about 99% full, and it was one of the loudest/most enthusiastic audiences I've ever been in, the only ones which were of a similar volume were the closing nights of Legally Blonde, Rock of Ages and Memphis. Lots of cheering and whooping at the end of songs, plenty of laughter in the comedic bits, and an instant standing ovation from almost the entire Stalls section.

On a Wednesday afternoon in early January it was packed. Stalls full, Dress full. Upper circle had people in it but can't tell how full it was.
Must be doing well.

Ahhh, it happened again. I went along to see this show for a second time, having first seen it about a year ago with Matt Henry and Paul Ayres,and not hugely enjoying it (although I loved the performances!). I'm not going to lie, the main reason for the return was because my sister and I wanted to see David Hunter (having enjoyed his performance in Once!) but we ended up absolutely loving the show this time round! It was just brilliant fun, and I felt like it flowed much better this time round. Cast was great. I really enjoyed the Angels - they were mesmerising, #Fitspiration  ! David Hunter was fabulous. He played up Charlie as being slightly uncomfortable or uncertain about Lola and the Angels all the way through, so his outburst seemed less out of the blue. But he was still likeable, and it was nice to see the character grow. As I has expecting, I loved his voice in the role. It's got a unique tone which really sets him apart, and his Soul Of A Man was a highlight for me. Elena Skye was also very good, very funny and her Lauren was VERY relatable! Ooh and we had 2nd understudy Simon-Anthony Rhoden as Lola. He smashed it! I came out feeling so uplifted and my sister (who'd never seen the show before and was only familiar with a few songs from the Broadway cast album) said she wanted to see it again. All in all, a great day. After revisting Sunny Afternoon recently and feeling totally different about that the second time round too, maybe I should go back to a few musicals which still haunt me, and see if I still feel the same. Hmm... (Oh, I arrived at the theatre at about 7:45 for dayseats, which was WAY too early. The next person didn't turn up until 9:15ish!!! Worth it though as we got to be dead centre.) |

I agree about returning to a show you didn't feel wowed at a few years later and loving it, I felt the swme going to Les Mis. It was great the firet time, but I didn't fall in love with it until I returned a year later. |

Yeah it was very full, and the audience was appreciative but not raucous, which suited me.
I'm so happy that I liked this so much better this time round, because I'm a really big fan on the cast albums and so was really disappointed to have not loved it the first time.

It's filling a niche that increasingly people want a feel good escapism experience when they go out in the west end to escape the horrors of the real world at this point in time. I think it's why Miss Saigon didn't really connect in its revival. It's not what audiences want now.
