Glad cast on website has been announced. Looks like Emma Crossley has been promoted as she's now u/s Lauren and Nicola. Charlotte Jefferies is also u/s Lauren. I really like the look of this new cast but I kind of wanted Carley Stenson as Lauren

Hope the first performance went well for the new cast and the audience enjoyed it!

New holiday dates are now up for the two leading men... Matt Henry will not be performing on the following dates: 1 - 3 September 2016 12 - 28 January 2017 David Hunter will not be performing on the following dates: 31 October - 5 November 2016 ... notably Matt Henry is not performing for a large part of January so whomever is listed as first Understudy in the new programme will be on for most of said month.

Well last night was amazing! I was in complete awe the whole way through...it is definitely a show I would see again!
The audience was electric - being in the second row of the stalls, there were quite a few obvious fans of the show around us who got the applause, cheering etc. going. It is the first show in a long time where there has been an instantaneous standing ovation before the bows have even begun.
I was highly impressed with the cast. You would have never known it was their first night.
David Hunter was fantastic. He portrayed Charlie with passion - his 'Step One' and 'Soul of a Man' were powerful and full of emotion. He has a beautifully raspy voice which sounds amazing live. This show definitely gives his voice a chance to shine, particularly when belting. I liked his acting too...I overheard a fan sitting next to us talking about how his take was completely individual and different to Killian.
Matt Henry - WOW is all I can say. I can see why so many people are glad that he's stayed on. Hilarious, sassy and what a voice! Tingles...
Elena Skye was a hilarious Lauren - right on point in my eyes! I can't compare her with Amy Lennox as I never saw her in the role, but Elena gave it her all. Beautiful voice too - a confident performance for someone making their West End debut.
As for the rest of the cast, I can't fault anyone. Cordelia Farnworth gave Nicola a great go - she was feisty but appeared genuinely saddened when she left Charlie to return to London. Alan Mehdizadeh portrayed Don well, and interacted particularly well with Matt. His strut down the catwalk at the end was hilarious! And who couldn't mention the angels?! From what I overheard, they were all new cast members. Flawless performances from them all! Amazing! Other notable mentions are Melissa Jacques as Trish (fab!) and Chloe Hart...I love that girl!
Overall, a highly enjoyable night. The new cast is well worth seeing. I even heard some say that they prefer them already over the originals (they made a very quick judgement)...but I myself am not one to judge!
In case anyone is interested, Lola u/s from the programme are as follows:
Craig Thomas - first u/s Jemal Felix - second u/s Simon-Anthony Rhoden - third u/s
I also heard people discussing Emma Crossley who has moved from swing to ensemble. She is first u/s Lauren and second u/s Nicola.
Hope that's helpful! 😁

One of the angels has stayed past cast change - Philip Town (the backflip angel) but all the others are new. I know Jon Reynolds wears the Union Flag outfit for the finale - does anyone know the outfits for the rest of the new angels?

There is a new 2 minute trailer on their Twitter page.
Seems weird that they've waited a year since it opened to put a full length trailer out and also record it with the previous cast. Wouldn't they of just waited to have recorded it with the current cast?
I hope they release new production shots too

Watched the trailer, and I've never been massively keen to see the show (mainly due to some of the lyrics, like in the trailer, that seem a bit repetitive and boring), but I might give the show a go now it has a new cast. Definitely not up for spending a lot so I'll probably do the todaytix lottery a few times and then if no luck book a cheap upper circle ticket.

I thought it seemed odd to release a new trailer with the old cast now the new cast has only just started. That being said, it's not like the general public are going to be able to recognise Killian Donnelly in the trailer, to be disappointed he's not in it anymore. Same goes for the rest of the cast. Recognisable to theatre fans but for the general theatregoing public it doesn't mean a whole lot, it's just to give a sense of what the show's about.
I also hope we get new production photos soon though.

I know Jon Reynolds wears the Union Flag outfit for the finale - does anyone know the outfits for the rest of the new angels? There is only 2 changes for costumes: Ben Sell - as Jeremy Batt - Same costumes but a slightly darker ginger wig. George Grayson - for Luke Jackson/Splits - Same costumes Jon Reynolds - for Javier Santos/Union Jack - Same costumes *CRAIG THOMAS - FOR MARCUS/REFEREE & 1ST LOLA - ARUNS COSTUMES/WIGS *JEMAL FELIX - FOR ARUN MANGAT/DANCE ANGEL & 2ND LOLA - MARCUS'S WIGS/COSTUME BUT CALLUMS FINALE COSTUME Marcus's pink finale costume is no longer in the full time angel line up. It was so weird that they have swapped Marcus's and Arun's track costumes. Jemal is extremely tall so the Marcus Costumes look a little weird and will take time to get used to. FYI Simon-Anthony Rhoden is NOT a cover for angels despite being 3rd Lola. He is exclusively a swing for factory only! I imagine Robin Mills will have Marcus's old pink finale costume. Jason Winter has Jordans purple TFL costume.

Perfect - thank you so much! I had noticed they now have 5 male swings (and only 2 female) and was wondering how they'd work - bit weird having a Lola cover who isn't also a cover for the Angels.

Its actually common in the American productions and it is actually the 1st cover Lola that doesn't cover angels. Interesting move to have the 3rd cover Lola not covering angels as the 1 time he may need to go on he may stuggle in the heel. On the other hand Marcus was never available for his possible Lola shows so hopefully Simon won't need to go on.

I've personally never heard of him, but is this a plan to boost audiences maybe? He is very popular in America, he has worked with Beyonce, done international tours etc, we should be a definite boost!

That is an amazing trailer. Just goes to show how a show like KB on Broadway can continue to reinvent its marketing in clever, canny and current ways.

He has a huge online following, but he's also been on Broadway before, so he's not a total cash grab. www.playbill.com/person/todrick-hall-vault-0000051386

That is an amazing trailer. Just goes to show how a show like KB on Broadway can continue to reinvent its marketing in clever, canny and current ways. It's not Broadway marketing, they are the kind of videos he makes. He is amazing! No doubt the Broadway producers convinced him to announce it like this but it is his own creation. He is sensational with his videos!

There is ONLY one way to see this show I have decided - it is a front row seat for £20!!! I will definately enter the lottery again! It is such a feel good show! New cast now although you would never have know it was only their 4th performance on the Wednesday matinee. Matt Henry is still AMAZING - you can understand why he is staying on for another year as he will probably never get such a gift of a part ever again! It is also the only role worth playing in the show! The other characters are underwritten! Poor David Hunter as Charlie must have the most thankless leading part in the WE. He is the same as Killian Donnelly but not quite the singing power in Soul of A Man and has a curious lisp which got on my nerves!
The show is drilled to within and inch of its life and the poor actors just have to follow the tracks EXACTLY! I understand the creatives insist that the show they set is replicated night after night and year after year - you could not allow a free for all of egotisitcal actors - it would be a shambles BUT it looks so animatronic at times! Move, kick, look, wince, gesture etc. All carefully notated! So how do the new cast compare to the old - just the same - you would never know the difference!!! So theatre is a factory - discuss? Astonishing energy from the cast but EVERY move and gesture is the same as the previous cast. There clearly is no room for " artistic interpretation".
My only crit of the show is that the first 15 minutes are slow with the set up of the story and the show only lifts off with the appearance of Lola and the Angels and then the show flies!!! I still loved it - it is a very feel good show! Plus Matt Henry is FABULOUS!!!!!!
