This is a moving play but felt very dated in the last tour a few years ago. I wonder if it will be updated at all.

I recently rewatched the Poliakoff Perfect Strangers, and I thought they worked really well together. I'm definitely intrigued by this one, although I know nothing at all about the play.

Toby Stephens is too featherweight for a role acted for keeps by Jim Dale and Eddie Izzard. For one thing, he's not funny.

He can be funny. Amazing play, memorable. Saw it way back I think before I had kids. I should check the dates. Not sure I can face it again.

I hope Peter Nichols is coming back into fashion, there are a few of his plays I’d like to see or see again. Passion Play for example - possibly it would seem dated but not sure. Pity the NT aren’t interested in investigating the minor plays of major British playwrights.

Ouf. Those prices are no yoke. The last two things I've seen in Trafalgar 1 have been via flash sales on Todaytix. I think it was something like £15 for decent seats. So I'll be waiting for that- putting all my eggs in one basket. |

Elanor - how did you watch Perfect Strangers? Have you got it on DVD as I'd love to get hold of a copy. I'm a great fan of Poliakoff's earlier works but so many have now been deleted around 2014.

It's temporarily on iplayer! I loved it at the time, and had a video version which wore out. It's beautiful.

I too have the recording on video but unfortunately no longer have a working video machine! Will have to pay to get it transferred to DVD which might prove rather expensive as there are 5 episodes originally ! I can get a copy for £20.99 via Amazon I believe!! Thanks for the info anyway as I cannot access iplayer without a computer.

I am seeing this on the 28th September and just wondering if I'm going to be able to get the train home after the evening performance... does anyone have any idea of the running time? There is no info on the website as yet.
