Anyone see Kill Climate Deniers at the Pleasance? It's a weird metatheatrical satire and I thought it was brilliant. Don't be so quick to judge it on it's title.

Basically it goes back and forth between being a dark comedy about an Australian government official trying to fight off a group of ecoterrorists and a monologue by (an actor performing as) the playwright telling the story of all the controversy he caused by writing a play with the title Kill Climate Deniers. |

I saw this, and thoroughly enjoyed it. I was expecting a 'straight play', so was a bit surprised by the meta stuff with 'Finig'. I also didn't expect it to be so funny. I so hope this comes back - I can see it doing a tour of smaller venues, and why it isn't on at Edinburgh, I can't understand.
As for the title - well, it's controversial, and provocative, and as 'Finig' says, once the story about it getting the Aussie version of Arts Council funding became public knowledge, he really couldn't change it - but that isn't really what it's about. It's so hard to talk about this show without giving massive spoilers!
If it does come back, it's well worth seeing - and buy the script book, it was very good value at The Pleasance, where they were selling it for £5 (listed on the back as £10.99), and it gives you a lot of extra material.
